That bolded statement is a fact. I wouldn't be too surprised if they beat Miami even though I have Miami coming out of the East, but theres no way I see them beating the Spurs.

Miami is no where near a threat as they were last year - thats a fact, they have not been able to beat the good teams in the NBA, most of their record came from beating on average teams. Even thouhg Detroit is favored to win the title this year, for some reason, whether you like it or not, the Pistons players always say to themselves that they have that chip ontheir shoulder. Ever since they came from that unforgettable game 7 its been a mission to get to the finals and take back the O'Brien Trophy. It doesn' tmatter if we're really the front runners for this, its their mentality that counts the most. You should see some of the interviews that McDyess had, he was so devastated about that loss, and he is hungrier than ever. Detroit will play even better in the playoffs because we do believe we are the underdogs. Also, I agree that the Spurs haven't been playing their best all season because of injuries, but so have the Pistons. All players at this point of the season suffer injuries whether you like it or not. Ben Wallace and McDyess have injured wrists. We swept the Spurs this season - thats a big deal with or w/ out injuries.

Some of the stuff I am reading makes no sense.....Detroit doesn't have to be an underdog to win. This is a GREAT team period. Favorite or underdog doesn't matter, the poise of this team will get them through the East and hopefully to a championship. What the hell is wrong with the Pistons saying they have the best starting five in the league. It is the truth, so saying it shouldn't be a sign of cockiness, it is a fact. Show me a better one and I will shut up, but don't waste your time because you cannot.2004, the Lakers got all the attention and lost, to the Pistons.... It isn't about who gets all of the attention, it is about who plays the best, and the pistons are the best in the league. You guys really need to think about what you are writing before you say it.....
