Great thread to discuss over the next year.
I have invested a decent amount into him, so im really hoping he not just swims but learns to snorkel (he has the high dive down).
Being impartial though, I'm concerned about his killer instinct, or somewhat lack of it seems.

I agree with you on the Derozan/Booker concept. I will add though that he needs to improve his handles some to be consistently successful at it. He does have a nice mid range pullup, but needs to find that last burst to get past defenders all the way to the hoop. His first step, at times, doesn't seem very quick. Or he tells the drive with body moves first, giving defenders a clue?
Scoots first step seems lighting fast compared to Shae. Shae just jumps over people.
improving his handles i think will help with this, as i think he has the athleticism to be quick out of the gate but his handles are preventing it.

Shaedon Sharpe will average 23-25 points this year if we let him.

Yeah, I really hope we get rid of Jerami, he's the only guy left with the green light to be a ball stopping chucker. I would love the offense to look like what Chauncey preaches and not get bogged down like it has whenever Ant or Jerami were in the game.

Shaedon was brought off the bench for 20 of his 72 games and still averaged 18.5 ppg. With Simons out of the way, look out.

Can’t be consistent without consistent minutes. He substantially upped his scoring last season despite playing less minutes.

Hopefully he bettered his defense this yr so he stays on the court.

If we could get Grant to come off the bench with Holiday, I think he would be okay. He still brings something no one else really brings on this team with his length.

    Scoot/Holiday/Banton
    Sharpe/Rupert/Thybulle
    Camara/Thybulle/Deni
    Deni/Grant/Murray/Willams
    Ayton/Clingan//Willams/Walker

Not sure where the rest or our 11 lands but i would be down with that to start the season. If Grant wont come off the bench then we need to trade him. We have a bottle neck.

He’s teetering towards the Jordan Poole/Jalen Green tier of guards — flashy with minimal impact on winning.

This season is huge for Sharpe.

KingSpeed - I agree with you on that and it is something i have mentioned in the past but i still stand by my post. Since Billups jerks him and Scoot around on minutes for no reason maybe a little more on Sharpe but this is why I said a few months ago IF Billups remained the coach then unless Billups gives Sharpe more time then Sharpe should be at least shopped. I will not lie I still feel that way if Billups cannot give Sharpe the time on the court then he should be traded or he could be wasted .

I mean when you throw Jalen Green out there, I'd be fine with that. Dude was the leading scorer on the team with the second best record in the West. I'd say he did impact winning. I would love it if Shaedon was better and more consistent than Green but I wouldn't be too upset if that's where he's at by the end of this upcoming season.

I actually agree, Sharpes points come so easy and rarely forces shots. That could change next year as he’ll likely be a number one or two option on offense. If I were him I’d live on the mid range game and going to the hoop. His percentage inside like 3’ is 65% or something like that so teams will want to protect that area. He also needs to get even more creative at drawing fouls, getting 3-5 more throws a game is crucial to becoming a 25 point a game scorer

Sharpe has to show me some fire...he tends to do what Batum used to do and look like the best player on the planet, then disappear for a few games..honestly other than his highlight reel dunks, Kris Murray is closer to being a complete player than Sharpe has been...I hope to see that change this season. He has superstar talent that seems at times to be dipped in THC....Brook asked him what his favorite music was and he said reggae so that is pretty sleepy music for a guy his age. Not exactly beats that pump you up for a game.

    Yes.
It is "sink or swim" time for Shaedon Sharpe.
A prove-it year especially on defense. His O needs to see efficient shot-taking (aka, 3's he does better at) along with better handles.
It is -- practically and primarily -- about the D.
IMHO, he has a ceiling that is all star level. His floor is determined by his D.

How much want-to is there in Sharpe in becoming a star player? Is it something he "needs" to do?
If the Blazers believe he has the want-to, and they see the work -- awesome.
If not, trade him ASAP for Dyson Daniels -- double down on the D and a secondary playmaker at SG/SF.

Dude you can make your point without saying ridiculous shit like this. Shaedon has earned the position he has on the team (getting starters minutes) just like Kris has (getting garbage time). Shaedon is worlds better than Kris on offense and even though Kris is the more solid defender it doesn't start to make up for the difference on the other end of the court. SMH.

It's a big year for Sharpe, for sure. However, no, it's not sink or swim time. It's sink or swim time for Kris Murray.

He needs to be traded. Hes just not good, and never really has been.

Though I know his trade value is awful too so we are stuck with him.
