My memory is fuzzy, but I thought I recall Olshey targeting 4 guys and he said two were available at 10 or wherever we ended up drafting. And I think he said MCW and CJ were the only two left. Definitely don't quote me on that. Maybe it was one of the Mikes who said it during a Courtside or draft special.
I like what I saw out of Robinson, too. He played under control and didn't try to do too much on offense. That said, I liked what I saw out of Freeland, too. I'm seemingly in the minority on that one. His first stint was a little rough, but I thought he played really well in the early 4th. Really well for him, that is. That stat line isn't gaudy, but he was fighting for boards and trying to keep plays alive. He had some tough calls, too. He was one of the few who played with heart tonight, I thought. I'd rather they just played Lopez less, and both players more. The small ball called for it.
CJ hasn't even played a single game. MCW has played one. I think we can hold off on any absolute judgments.
I started thinking of the PG's in the league and can't think of a real "pure" PG anymore. Even CP3 who is probably the closest thing, is still relied upon to score a lot.
I honestly forgot about both Rubio/Rondo,which is weird since they are two of my favorite players to watch, and as for Miller I was thinking starting PG's.
Well, a guy has to be truly special to make it as a "pure" point guard these days. Just look at Kendall Marshall. He was billed as the first pure point guard to come along in a while, and he has been a huge disappointment.
