LA is our MVP and possibly the NBA's MVP. He is playing on a completely different level right now just unbelievable. Thing with LAs game is that its just so bread and butter consistent that's its easy to overlook the greatness. In some ways though Lillard is our MVP, he brings an attitude and never say die toughness that LA doesn't have. Lillard is also extremely clutch and while LA is getting better in this department that is also one of his weaknesses. Lillard is also more of burst scorer than LA. They are such a great compliment to eachother though and if one of them was not on our team the other one probably wouldn't be in the top 10 MVP race.
Too early for this discussion. I hope this doesn't turn into "team Dame" vs "team LaMarcus"! We should be appreciating both of them.
wasn't at all the point of the OP. Both are playing well, and are appreciated. But I very rarely see people acknowledge the leap Damian has taken, especially when the team needs him.
But I just made a thread like... the other day.... about how Dame has improved on virtually everything except his 2P% and his assists!
That's what I sometimes dislike about discussions like these, because really, I like Lillard a lot more than Aldridge. I've just always been a bigger fan of guards, since I started watching basketball. Then you get in a thread, and start arguing against your favorite player, and you end up down the road getting labeled a hater or something.
Yes, I think Dame's presence and style of play improved every player's game. And he would be the scoring leader if he was allowed the same amount of field goal attempts as LA.
Dame can take quite a few shots as well. I think they just vary depending on the opponent and who's hot at any one time.
Honestly, I think Aldridge is our most consistent player, which is crucial. Tim Duncan might not be a guy that will explode for 25 points in a quarter, but the guy is steady. He gives you the same production every game. We need that. Dame is valuable in that he can take over a game at any point. He's the kind of star that every team needs, but we also need that consistent guy who gets you 23 and 10 every game. We know what Aldridge will give us every game, and we can count on him delivering, but Dame is a wild card. He might score 16 or he might score 38. We just don't know, and it varies on whether the team needs him to score or if we're fine with him taking 13 or 14 shots.
