Not to mention his hesitation to do the one thing he evidently does well. Swanigan has deficiencies, quite a few, but at least he has an idea of what to do on a basketball court.
This is the stat you use to argue that he is the worst player in the NBA......that he doesn't shoot that much? More so than someone who can't actually make a shot when he does shoot? I think you may be embellishing a little.
I must be a glass half full person, because when Meyers is on the court I'm looking for what he does right. I think there are things he does that helps the team, and I think he does a lot fewer things that make me cringe. I don't know how to do a quantitative analysis on the subject, but I see him helping a lot more than he's hurting. What I like is that he is focusing on doing the kinds of things that help make his teammates successful, even though it doesn't show up in his personal stats. Like setting screens, facilitating the offense, making timely passes, drawing defenders, boxing out. He's even caused or contributed to several opposition turnovers that I've seen. There's just no sense actually hating on the guy at this point. Although the occasional Meyers joke is ingrained in our culture, so that's cool
Obviously Meyers is not going to have a breakout season. His goal, and our expectations, should be a useful backup with a long but unremarkable career.
He better be careful, no one wants to incur the wrath of Ha "I'll sue! I'll sue!" Seung-Jin. I hear he's pretty good with a bo staff, too. BNM
Do not forget that Meyers is the NBA playoffs swish3 percentage record holder (76.9% with at least 10 swish3s made) who also made 75% on Oct 12, and in that game was 7 of 8 FG with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Meyers should shoot at least 6 swish3s in each game, and keep shooting them if he makes 3 or more. I agree that he does contribute screens, spacing, and assists, and can defend AD and other bigs. I focus on the achievements and his improvements. If the Blazers alternate Meyers and Nurk at center today, I expect a good chance for 32-38 points from the center position and a win over the Pelicans.
Technically, yes. It's not an officially recognized record, but if you specify a minimum of 10 made 3FGs and sort by 3FG%, here's what you get: BNM
