We today aren't that stupid. Religion is outdated and full of sh*t. And it is taking money. If the US government decided to tax all the churches, we'd payoff our deficit.</div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Do we have proof the bible is thousands of years old? How do we know it's not just like 500 years old?</div>Because it was written thousands of years ago. Historical records.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Do we have proof the bible is thousands of years old? How do we know it's not just like 500 years old?</div>well the obvious answear to that is that its historical fact that the Roman empire changed its official religion to Christianity in 313 AD. The Romans also kept great records of everything, and some of the earlist mentions of the new sect of Christianity is mentioned in around 55AD, the Romans also mention the Jewish people and the Tenakh as early as the first Punic War(circa 264 because). I'm using the Romans as an example of record keepers because like I said they kept great records, and historians have a fairly accurate account of the years following the decline of the Empire. There is also mentions of the Jewish people and the Tenakh by other groups such as the Babylonians, Persians, Macidonians, Greeks, Carthagians, Egpytians and even a few references to it in both India, and China.Than there is the most conclusive proof that it is thousands of years old, and thats the dead sea scrolls, which are dated to be before 100 AD.
Other than a few hundred million artifacts, 100s of cities, and countless still standing structures like Ampitheatres, Aquaducts, roads, bridges temples, ports, and other ruins. than there is no evidence.

My step bro's dad is a "church freak" and I really can't stand the guy. He's TOO into it. But about people getting out of hand and stuff - damn, I can't stand it. Like, the people that don't allow their children to watch Scooby Doo because their is "witchcraft" involved.. STFU. Same with people not allowing their kids to read Harry Potter. Or people that cry "sin" if they hear a swear word. I mean come on, get real people.

Religion is brainwashing. There is no higher being, no one just made the world of thin air and decided that people have to live a certain way and not be who they are.

I know God created the universe. Whereas you, you're lost and wandering for answers, trying so hard not to accept God, for whatever reason, where all signs eventually point to Him.What has religion done positive? Well, it's brought morals and ethics. It's brought the foundation for the majority of your rights. Again, it's no coincidence the major discoveries and inventions all come after a Manifestation. They bring us guidance. Without it, none of us would be alive. Also, don't forget, religion is primary spiritual. This world is just a drop of true spiritual life.

It is physically impossible for there to be a "greater being" to create our known universe. Let's be serious people, it is 2006, we have the knowledge to know better. There is no need to be told fairy tales.
