The DNC's personal Media puppet CNN coming on strong with another huge dose of anti-Semitism. By Brian Flood | Fox News CNN's Paul Begala criticized for comparing Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner to ‘cockroaches’ CNN’s Paul Begala is in hot water after saying, ‘cockroaches are going to survive a nuclear war’ when talking about Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner on a panel with Jake Tapper. During a discussion about the new book, "Kushner, Inc.," Tapper and his panel discussed whether or not President Trump would ever kick his daughter and son-in-law to the curb and questioned how the couple has kept their gig while the White House faces frequent turnover. “Of course they survived. I mean, cockroaches are going to survive a nuclear war,” Begala said. The panel’s token Trump supporter, Dave Urban, shook his head in disgust upon hearing the derogatory remark. CNN did not immediately respond when asked if Begala will be disciplined or apologize. “OK,” Tapper responded before allowing Begala to continue slamming Kushner, calling the president a “criminal” in the process. The potentially anti-Semitic comment came amid controversy surrounding Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who has come under fire for her own comments about Jewish people and Israel. Last month, CNN was accused of using the Omar rhetoric as the impetus to attack Trump and other Republicans, prompting Cornell Law School professor William A. Jacobson to tell Fox News that it’s time for CNN to acknowledge it has a far-left, anti-Trump agenda. Meanwhile, the “cockroaches” comment reminds critics of other hateful rhetoric used to target Jewish people. “Considering the wide debate about anti-Semitism on the left and in America more broadly, Begala’s comments could be taken by some as anti-Semitic since Kushner is Jewish and Ivanka converted to Judaism,” Media Research Center contributor Ryan Foley wrote. “Begala’s comparison of the Jewish Kushners to insects closely mirrors the rhetoric of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who denied that he was anti-Semitic; instead arguing that he was ‘anti-termite.’” CNN pundits recently expressed outrage when President Trump referred to MS-13 gang members as “animals,” but the “cockroaches” comment about members of the president’s family has received little attention from the network’s media watchdogs. Twitter reactions... Last week, a CNN national security analyst compared @realDonaldTrump to Hitler. Now a CNN political analyst is actually borrowing a term from Nazi propaganda to talk about his Jewish daughter and son-in-law. It’s disgusting. For those who don’t get the reference, it was considered a case study in dehumanization when the Tutsis were repeatedly referred to as “cockroaches“ right before the Rwandan genocide. @PaulBegala resorts to tactics documented in the movie Rwanda: referring to political opponents as “cockroaches.” This is very dangerous and @TheDemocrats should, but won’t, speak out against such dehumanizing language. He needs to resign NOW! This is grossly unacceptable! Needless to say, I don’t watch this stinking channel but it’s inconceivable to me that the host wouldn’t immediately condemn his guest for calling a Jewish couple - and the president’s daughter - “cockroaches”. What's your point? That Fox News is the most trusted news in the country? And how many major journalism accolades have they garnered? What's that? Zero?
Lanny... You’re a smart guy, you know the point. The rhetoric that our news anchors, political leaders, and people are using right now is so disgraceful, we really are dehumanizing people who disagree with us and its disgusting. Theres irony of republicans calling out democrats for saying things they shouldnt doesnt elude me, I mean Trump tweets out so many disgusting things that the “right” doesnt call him out for. Its more and more apparent to me that we have gotten towards a point in Human history where we hardly view other people as Humans, as something of value. If they have a different skin color, political views, world views, etc we are quick to attack their misdoings, but if they have those things in common with us were much more inclined to say nothing, or go on the defensive. Calling another person a cockroach, is in fact wrong and it does lead further into the idea that they’re less human then we are.
lol, how embarrassing. The guy didn't call anyone a cockroach though . A cockroach was only used as something that could survive a nuclear war as an explanation to those that wonder how the Kushner's have been able to survive D.C .
“Of course they survived. I mean, cockroaches are going to survive a nuclear war,” Begala said. That is absolutely calling someone a cockroach. In the very least its inviting a comparison. If my wife survived a house fire, and I told her, well of course you survived, cockroaches can survive nuclear war. How do you think she’d take that?
It's true. I used to think of all people as having a soul and therefor worth caring for whether they agree with me or not. These days I find myself drifting away from that. I go to church to find that and renew myself yet it seems like it's a fleeting endeavor.
I don't know your wife but mine would probably chuckle a little and let it go I honestly wouldn't have felt it was a big deal either. People have become way to sensitive and go out of their way to make things bigger than they are. The PC stuff goes to far.
My wife honestly wouldn't care too, but the reason that analogy is bad, is because I assume your wife knows you love her. Same with mine. If someone you knew really didn't like you said it though, you know they are calling you a cockroach. Yes PC goes too far at times, I agree but the name calling and rhetoric of our politics have gotten way out of hand and Trump is awful at it I'm not excusing him.
