You misunderstand. I'm saying that I don't think that happens. "I don't think the games are literally rigged, that certain games are manipulated to determine the winner ahead of time" is an alternate phrasing for "I don't think the games are literally rigged, I don't think certain games are manipulated to determine the winner ahead of time."
I'm not into conspiracy theories much, but when I see a wide receiver running around in the end zone waving his hands wide open, no pass, and the point spread isn't covered, I wonder. When I see a guy running down the sidelines with nothing but daylight ahead of him and he barely steps out of bounds, and his team doesn't cover, I wonder. When I see a QB take a sack when he probably could have found an open man, I wonder. When I see Michael Jordan jokingly hit two FTs with his eyes closed at the end of a game, then miss two FTs with the point spread on the line, I wonder. When I see one ref get busted for point shaving, it really makes me wonder if there's not more refs involved, if not all of them. He was involved with a major crime family, they have ways to making you an offer you cannot refuse.
That makes sense. As for rigged in win/loss the only time I've ever really questioned it was Kings/Lakers WCF game 6. I thought the game 7 Laker win was reffed pretty well, I just don't think there should've been a game 7.
