Lets put it this way: If C.J. stays I doubt it will make our season and if C.J. goes I doubt it will break our season. The guy didn't do squat last season and you want him taking the sixth man role?

He didn't do squat because he missed half the season with an injury.

What if we don't even have a backup PG? I like the team with Nic playing Point Forward.
CJ seems like a SG with little skill at PG. So let him be to play SG.
Just so long as Mo does not play.

Realistically, Batum is our backup point guard. I think Stotts realized that and left him in to play with Mo towards the end of the season.

I agree, CJ is not a point guard. I have seen nothing that leads me to believe he can fill that role. He is a scorer.

Lillard is still learning as a pg. A pass first pg would help Lillard. If we can get Steve Blake for cheap he would be a nice backup. Steady, low turnovers, pass first, good 3pt shooter.

In addition to Blake, we should look at bringing back Dixon. He shot poorly and was dramatically undersized for a SG, but he had so much heart that I'm sure he'd have a lot to teach Dame.

I think I will go work on my boat now that my Blazer obligations have been worked. I may be launching it in Bandon, right down town if the Port agrees. Set it in with a big crane right off the waterfront.

When? I want to be there for that! We can get a bottle of wine from the Neil Goldschmidt winery to christener her!

As I recall, David Robinson "didn't do squat" in the 1997 season either. Do you know why?

So my pal Hobbs made a good point. If the idea isn't to get a back up point in the offseason. I think you have to keep Mo just for the extra offensive punch and depth. Let's say the Blazers sign Marion and they sign Okafor for the BAE. As long as CJ, Will and Thomas continue to improve. That's pretty good depth. And a pretty good bench.

Let's see what CJ (and Will) do in Summer League. Last year the standout player (just head and shoulders over everyone else) was Reggie Jackson. David Thorpe (TrueHoop) explicitly used Jackson as the player that CJ should model himself on.
