Is there any point at which you would physically revolt against our government?

I think I made my stance on compulsory education, owner liability, and mandatory trigger locks/lockers as opposed to "disarming the populace" clear after Sandy Hook, but it's been a few months and the patina of stereotypes does get a bit thick after a while. My father and grandfather both hunted for food, which did feed us through more than one lean winter in the 80's. I have nothing against responsible gun ownership.

I notice that you didn't jump in and say when you'd start pulling the trigger. So what's the tipping point when you start fighting back against the Fuhrer Obama?

Nowhere did Father Martin Niemoller ever say he would arm himself, only that he would speak up. I am glad, however, you recognize how comfortable our President is with the idea of National Socialism, however.

On a more serious note. One of the laziest, most obese populaces the world has ever produced in a shooting war with the mightiest army the world has ever seen? Good luck with that.

I served my country...... I just can't see myself rising up against it. I would just move to and island in the caribbean....... as long as I could have the NBA league pass!

I really don't think there is much of a chance of a violent revolt in America. Perhaps mass protests and new political parties, but not violence, at least on any large scale.

I sometimes watch those Prepper shows on TV, and they are so many seem certain there will be a violent revolt, and they stockpile 10's of thousands of rounds of ammo, but then they all say they plan just use that to protect their own property. Well, if they are the ones who are actually fighting, I don't think there are many others more fringe than them to actually attack.

I fully expect small skirmishes, a protest gets violent in DC or Houston, or some specific local, but I don't see that catching on.

If it came to any kind of revolt, the military would most likely be on our side. Most of the people I know who served or are serving would never be willing to kill fellow Americans.

    very true

unlike most political type sin office, the military would hold to their oath to follow lawfull orders and uphold the constitution

If politicians are good at one thing it's making illegal crap look like the right thing to do. I expect there would be a fair number (at higher levels especially) who are brainwashed into thinking what they're doing is right, ad they might hold sway over quite a few beneath them. I think you'd see a half/half split.

At the risk of sounding a little too tinfoil hat, how many soldiers will our military need in 50 years?

Roombas with flame throwers will be sizzling our lardish asses in our own grease while Trig Palan or Malia Obama gleefully mash the "OBEY" button on their Oval Office chair.

At which point, Anonymous and 4chan become our well-regulated militias because they can hack Roombas.

To be fair, I find parts of our government physically revolting.
