    I'm torn on Kidd...
On one hand he helped to turn around our franchise...
on the other he turned into an overpaid, aging crybaby who thinks the world owes him a championship...

I'll be happy for him if he wins but I might smirk if you guys blow it in the playoffs...

Also for you it wasn't like Devin was poisoning your team with trade demands and crybaby antics...Kidd was...it would be a lot easier to root for Kidd if he hadn't been so damn vocal.

hey man, who told you that? I can't wait to watch some Mavs game on national TV and it's not because of Dirk or even Devean George[sarcasm]. I wish Kidd all the best even though his departure was far from nice. But I also understand those Nets fans who do not wish Kidd any luck.

dirk is wonder bread soft, and kidd is old. your team is in mediocrity
    </div>

Dirk is hard compared to good old Vince Carter, Devin Harris is pretty soft aswell. I like Devin and Diop and I will miss them but your team forum is making me hope they go bad, it's terrible. Our team is in mediocrity? We made the finals two years ago, had one of the best records last year (yes, no need to point out we had a horrible playoff run) and this year we have around a dozen more wins than you with a good portion of the season already. Detroit or Cleveland will hand your assess to you on a plater whereas we have a good chance of advancing against New Orleans or whomever we face.

The trade works well for both teams, Dirk is shooting around 60% since Kidd got back averaging around 29 points per game - it is going for Dallas. Hes back to his MVP form. Cant we just agree that this trade is good for both teams given their situation - the Kidd trade makes Dallas an instant contender (which is what they wanted) and hopefully for Devin Harris and Diops (and certaintly not for yours) sake the Nets can mature into a decent team, but to say that this was highway robbery just shows your lack of basketball IQ and bias - grow up Nets fans (only some of you, like Jizzy)

For those of you who think this trade was "highway robbery", you must be mixing up this trade with th Gasol trade. While I do think the Mavs gave up a bit much to get Kidd, it wasn't highway robbery. They gave away some good talent to get him and got great talent back, the Grizz gave up an all star and got nothing basically.

As for this trade, I'm not sold on either of them yet. I want to see how Harris plays in NJ. Right now we have one game as a sample, and quite frankly, that's not enough. The Mavs have what, 6 games now with Kidd? And to be honest, it's clearly working out for the Mavs. They're offense is flowing much better compared to what it was and Dirk is back in MVP form. The only issue they have is Kidd and Avery might end up bumping heads. His call to take out Kidd in the final minute the other night was sheer stupidity. That's why they brought him in was for those clutch situations, so taking him out just to prove a point was stupid. The only point he proved is that he's more worried about proving a point than winning, and that could cost them. Hell, with how tight the West is, that one loss could cost them homecourt. As it is, I halfway expect Avery to be fired after this season anyways if they don't win in the playoffs, but that's a whole 'nother story. This is about the trade, and I'd say it's working well for both sides at the moment.

as i said before the trade was a win-win...

nets got what they need as a rebuilding team looking forward to brooklyn and lebron in 2010

mavs got a legend who makes everyone around him better and fits in with the mavs in the "win now" mode after being close to winning it all a few times in recent years...

Funny you should be talking about maturity. And growing up. Because in the threads I've seen you post in, I've seen none of maturity and the need to grow up from you. Basically, all you've done is what's commonly labeled as "trolling". In those said threads, you've basically been bashing the Nets and the Nets fans, and yes, showing a bit of bitterness because we feel good for once after being a shitty team.

Oh yeah, and that mediocrity...well, we did have Kidd as a part of creating that mediocrity. And since the trade, we have been 3-2*, winning against teams we would've probably lost against with Kidd (sadly enough), playing like he didn't wanna be here.

We're 3-2 post-Kidd. I'm keeping track in my sig, just to see how much the trade actually benefited us this year.

I rather not risk Brand after he just got surgery. Hell, if we could get him without sacrificing much then I'd go for him. I mean, this the the Clippers franchise we are dealing with here people.

Yeah, I know. That 1st loss was without the guys from the Kidd trade, so I wasn't counting that.

Que? We've beaten Chicago, Indiana, and Milwaukee and have lost to Indiana and Orlando post all-star break, which is the same thing as post-Kidd. I'm not counting the Toronto loss either.

[IMG] Yeah, idk why, but I forgot about the Orlando loss. Just woke up, and really pissed off about Syracuse. Wasn't thinking straight. 3-2, post-Kidd
