As sad as it sounds, Kwame/2nd year Bynum (who played roughly half the game) was a better center lineup than the Raptors ever had. Odom still played 2/3rds of that season, and played good minutes in those games (40 mpg), and at a higher level than any Raptor PF outside of possibly Bosh in his rookie year. I'm sure the Raptors would have gladly taken Space Cadet over JYD (loved that guy) or Keon Clark. However I will agree that Alvin Williams (pg), although he was a pretty bad shooter and Smush looks like an amazing shooter comparatively, Alvin Williams was imo a better pointguard.
Defensively 06-07 was horrific outside of Kobe, that's the key though. Bryant's the only one with respectable defensive PER. The Lakers were 24th in the league on D.
Anyway, if Carter started on the Lakers, and Kobe on the Raptors. Right now Carter would be a shoe-in, and there would be a thread saying "Is Kobe Bryant a Future HOFer?" and I'm sure there would have been plenty of outrage in Toronto as Kobe demands for a trade, and that the Hockey based media would have continued to expect Kobe to carry the team with a garbage roster, and crappy coaching to a NBA championship. While Carter with his HOF coach, and one of the best centers of all time, with decent role players cruise their way to title after title after title.
Carter is not as talented. You might have lost to the Kings for all I know. Who cares really, that's a cop out anyway. Kobe's the better regular season, post-season, whatever, player. All this complaining about teammates, Kobe won with Pau, plain and simple. Give him Chris Bosh and he sure as hell would have a better chance of winning than Vince Carter.
lol, no Kobe lost with Pau. (and it was more than that). Kobe put forth an absolutely shitty performance against the Celts. Give Carter one of the greatest coaches, Pau, Odom, Fisher, Farmar, etc, and lets see if he just jacks up shots and does jack shit during the Finals.
Carter has a 51.6 True Shooting percentage in the playoffs. The League average is 53, the guy blows dude, admit it. He shot his team out of way more games than Kobe ever has.
This is his peak. This is one of Kobe's worst years. Fall back man, you have no case to make. Sorry you can attack Kobe all you want but nothing personal please. Public figures are different.
The real point that was missed in this thread is that Gasol finally won a championship with a great coach and a half decent team around him.
Lol. Nah I don't think Carter "blows", I am indeed messing with you. I just thought that was amusing to say.
I just don't think that mods who start saying absolute shit to troll/bait deserve much respect. Saying things like "Carter just blows, admit it." Definitely is just some guy who has nothing better to do that troll.
You're baiting/trolling just as much then, stop acting like some martyr. If I recall, you're the guy bringing up pretty much only negative aspects of Bryant throughout this thread.
Comparing Carter's best roster to Kobe's worst roster is not "bringing up the negative aspect of Bryant". I still think Kobe is a great player, just that for a player of his caliber put in his situation he was guaranteed success. If the situation was reversed with Carter then there would be a "Is Kobe a future HOFer thread?" Anyway, bringing up negative traits when compare players will happen. A lot different than just going "Carter just blows, admit it dude"
Yeah me saying "Carter blows" facetiously, was nothing dude. Get over it. You don't understand the rules at S2, not my problem. I try to never go after people personally, that's just immature to be honest. If I ever do, please edit me Random Mod.
