<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">Rider is a poor example of someone trying to jump on the bandwagon. Teams weren't exactly lininup up to sign him as a FA. The Lakers actually did want him, so he went there. I dont hear anyone complaining about the Spurs signing Rasho. Rasho could have stayed in Minnesota, but he jumped to a team for a better chance to win a ring. What about Alonzo Mourning?> He went to NJ to have a better chance at a ring. I don't see anyone complaining about that. </div> Totally different..Rasho and Mourning will actually produce alot to their teams. And no Rasho went to Spurs as more money was offered for more years. but Spurs needed a center and got one..Rider who was once a 20 point scorer...a very good player to me...His career got bad...And went to L.A to round it up....He didn't plan out like the Lakers hoped...and it looked clear to me he was in there JUST for the ring...When you have a player who will produce, play an all-round game to help Shaq and Kobe then thats not really jumping on the bandwagon as they are giving alot to the team..Rider never really did...No one is blaming them for doing this....but they still did..People will consider Malone and Payton jumping on the bandwagon if they get that ring too..Even if they produce..Thats just the way it is.
Wrong, people consider Malone and Payton bandwagoners because they play for the Lakers. That's just the way it is.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting the MDE:</div><div class="quote_post">Wrong, people consider Malone and Payton bandwagoners because they play for the Lakers. That's just the way it is.</div> I basically just said that..So no I'm not wrong...Playing for the Lakers as a big name player always means "you are jumping on the bandwagon" Which may be unfair but that always seems to be the case now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting the MDE:</div><div class="quote_post">If it always seems to be the case, why do you keep bringing it up? :-?</div> What? I don't keep bringing it up..This is the only time I've even mentioned it....Do you do anything else but cry when anyone says something you don't like about the Lakers? There are other teams in this league you know.
No, he doesn't cry about Laker bashing, when its fair. Payton and Malone may have went to the Lakers, but why shouldn't they have? They are great players, who had great careers, and deserve a shot at the ring for remaining so loyal to the teams that originally drafted them. Payton doesn't even come close to being a bandwagoner. He didn't ask to be traded from Seattle. He had no loyalty ties to Milwaukee. He was w/o a team. ------ TheMDE: Don't respond to allnet's post with any kind of lash out. Please. It doesn't need to be addressed with any kind of put down. Just argue the facts; you are a more than capable poster of logically and civilaly doing just that.
Allnet said the view is they, Payton & Malone, are on the bandwagon, he never said it was his opinion. "It's just the way it is." And he's right, eventhough I completely disagree, and so do a lot other people. I guess when Isiah Rider is the topic of conversation there will always be controversy.

Chill out. allnet, seems to me like you are taking cheap shots at the Lakers here. Payton and Malone are professionals. They want to win NOW. Where is the best place for that, the Lakers right next to Da Big Fella. Would you have called them "bandwagon hoppers" if they would have signed along to play with the world champs and Tim Duncan? I think you dropped the ball a little here, I see your point, but in my opinion, it was a weak one. That 3 threads that I have counted where you guys both just won't let it go, just drop it already. I'm sorry, I could not hold that in any longer. Remember to breath people and count to 10, lol.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">It actually praising the Lakers to have a franchise where players are willing to do that</div> Great, thats what I wanted to hear. Now if we can get straight on the other side.
So now you are praising the Lakers allnet? I just don't get you... ah well, let it go..my bad. over and out, the MDE
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting the MDE:</div><div class="quote_post">So now you are praising the Lakers allnet?
