Yea its true that Babcock is the opposite of Isiah, and is smart about not leaking rumors to media and keeping his options open.

I think that Babcock will wait for a better trade before even considering it.

Anyone notice that Marshall and Jalen are great buddies, and Jalen wants out, but I'm not sure if Donyell does. I think Donyell would be a great player to keep for our team, but he has a great trade value and we are unsure if he will stay.

Yea Isiah's idea of being a good GM is make as many big trades or signings as possible, More trades = Better GM in his mind. However he has messed up the chemistry with too many scoring players with not enough attention to team defense or a team offense.

I like this deal a lot. I really want to get Kurt Thomas in a Raptors jersey.. he can play the 5 and hold his own against Centers because of his big frame. Hardaway comes off the books after this year, as does Marshall, so he wouldnt have resigned.. and Rose is not part of the future here. I think its a great deal for the Raps.

^ penny doesnt come off the books till end of next year. And Kurt Thomas would not be a great choice for the center spot...he cant rebound worth a damn. He's working on only his second 9rpg season since he's been in the league. And i dont feel like paying 8 million till he's 37, which is when his contract is done. (4 year!!!)

    He can't rebound? I hope that's a joke.

That is the wrong thing to say, however he won't be able to score when he is 38 and is being paid 8 million. He will be a defensive liability against any center when he is 38 and we will be paying him a lot to do little. Donyell has a great contract and can shoot the 3 while defending centers.

That midrange jumpshot will still be valuable. He is also one of the leagues best low post defenders, hands down. Kurt will be getting paid a lot of money, but stop playing him like he's grabage (some Raptor fans).

Currently he is playing the 4. I would like to see a knick game where he starts at 5. Currently Nazr is your C, so if KT were traded to the Raptors then he would have to play a lot of C. Donyell would play great as a 4, it would be so much easier for him. Look what he did last year when he played as a 4 and Bosh at the 5. I will look at it in three departments

    Skills:
    Jalen > Hardaway
    Yell > KT

    Contracts:
Hardaway > Jalen (1 year difference)
Yell > KT (4 year difference)

    Overall
    Yell > KT
    Jalen > Hardaway

The reason I put Jalen over hardaway, is because Jalen is productive and Hardaway won't be for this year and the next year. It will only save us one year of cap space.

So why not put the almighty Bosh at C, and Thomas at the 4?

    lmao, indeed.

Well your insight is truly incredible, if we put our godly Bosh at Center we suddenly be unstoppable! [IMG]

When we had Bosh playing at center last year, he really started to get exhausted from the physical punishment at that position. He is not bulky enough to play center and he shouldn't ever need to. Once we placed him at the 4, Chris had really started to develop.

Its the same reason why we have Donyell play at the 5. So if we traded KT for Yell, he would have to also play the 5.

Not too many. It was a joke. I am sure he got abused with his lack of strength. That's why I said the almight Bosh to imply it was a joke.

He's not the best rebounder, probably becuase he's always 15 feet out spotting up for the jumper. Either way he shouldnt play center. not big enough, not a powerful enough rebounder.

That seems like the most logical choice. I think we should give Robert Archibald a 10 day and start him with Pape, Bosh can come off the bench.

glad these trade rumors have died down...one of the worst deals iv read about

its pretty funny to see knick fans overrating their players...some of them tend to love doing that.

kurt thomas is a decent post defenders. hardly one of the best in the league. if he was one of the best in the league, he'd be on at LEAST 2nd team all defense...but he's not...he's not even a 3rd team all league defender.

but the bottom line is, with his age, and the amount of money he's making, this deal would only hurt the raptors. donyell is a better player, and he has an expiring contract...so why would we want KT? i had a feeling this deal was BS...im glad it appears dead in the water now

That's an awesome idea!! [IMG] No but seriously I think Pape Sow's gonna be something like a poor man's Ben Wallace, assuming we keep him after this season.
