Snapper was one of the best ever. Incredibly honest, probably to honest. He would get into arguments with whoever he was working with when they spouted out some BS.

My comment about him being Black, was because that seems to be the only thing he has going for him. Talent missing so he must have been hired to balance the team.

Yes, difficult to relate with the guy. He is no Snapper Jones.

My understanding is that Hurd wasn't the Blazers 1st choice....or 2nd. No matter, I like the knowledge he brings to the game even though I agree it seems he is trying to get too much in too often. They'll get a rhythm.

I already prefer it to constant whining about the refs, the obligatory 10 calls a night that were wrong because of anticipation of a favorable Blazers outcome instead of just calling the game. "Long '3' by Lillard. No, deep '2' they say." "Out of bounds....Blazer ball. No, off the Blazers they say." That happened so often it became a drinking game. Combine that with how often Rice would obliterate a player's name and that had become quite old. I liked them both and Rice was certainly entertaining at time but I believe this is an upgrade.

It's not like they haven't called games together before being hired by the Blazers. They did some college games together. Hurd is not just some ex-Beaver player they pulled off the street to "balance the team". He is still very young in the business but does have some experience.

Man that bugged me so much because it implied that Barretts view of the game was more correct than the refs. Not to mention it would mislead the viewer into thinking the refs had some personal vendetta against the Blazers.

Welcome to yesterday. As a white pale guy seeing those tweets about Lamar offended me and I apologize taking it on here. I just need to ignore the racist tweets about Lamar.

I dislike listening to Bob Costas more than I could ever dislike Hurd (who I don't actually dislike). Costas is about as white as you can get.

Lots of racists loved Bill Cosby but hated Richard Pryor. But this is yesterday's discussion.

Twitter is garbage... They've banned people for less, but let that type of talk (and talk of killing cops) prevail. Fucked up man.

It's occurred to me that C&H are the opposite of M&M.

M&M: The main commentator got excited, and got me excited. Color guy doesn't speak much, mostly just piles on.
C&H: The main commentator is impartial/dispassionate while the color guy's job seems to be to get excited.

I prefer the former. Wheels (and his predecessor, for that matter) is like the former.

Serious question: Is there an online radio link so I can listen to Wheels?

No. The only online streaming of Wheels is on your phone via the Blazers app. Other radio stations that broadcast Blazer games have alternate programming during the game on their internet streams.

You can buy the radio feed from NBA.com without the game streaming...it used to be free...then last year I think it was 19 bucks or something for the season..some games are blacked out but you get most of them

It's $10 to listen to any NBA game live - although, unlike the MLB one - no archives... that part pisses me off because I like to listen to them at night when I'm doing other stuff.,
