i am talking at a young age. my boy is playing 10 tournaments this summer. those are weekend events. some of those tourneys are 7 games a weekend 10 years old. a ton of ball is being played and some of these coaches have zero clue how to handle the pitchers. they just want to win. this does not include regular school ball during the school year. kids are throwing way too many innings at way too young of age with zero rest in the year.
IDK Musky, it just seems to me that when I was a kid baseball was even bigger than it is today as far as kids playing. Between organized little league & even stick ball everywhere you turned kids had a bat or a glove with them. I just don't see that today. Great example is yesterday memorial day parade, I use to see 100+ little leaguers march in the parade, yesterday there were maybe 30 or 40 tops!.
Not quite sure I know what the hell you're talking about.....but if you're offering advice or constructive criticism that's fine with me.... ...I'm not sure how to fully respond to your comments about me without bringing up "the same old sh!t", or appearing to be "bickering", but if you're trying to analyze me or think you really know what kind of person I am based on a few replies or opinions regarding baseball talk on a baseball board I think I kinda owe it to you and others to try not to take it too seriously and PLEASE don't make me lessen my opinion of you because you come across KNOWING what kind of person I really am without "knowing" me or asking some people who "know" better- my old and current friends, acquaintances, neighbors and co-workers. Now I don't know if I have to ask the referee "may I" to finish up but you and the majority of this board have to know that I've had and have differing opinions on more Yankee issues than the vast majority of regular posters on this board..... i.e. team expectations, how long or short a period to wait before pulling the plug on struggling players, what would and could be a reasonable expectation for certain players....... ....how long or short a period to wait before giving a definitive answer on whether or not a trade was a good or bad one, the possible thought process and reasons why the "Yanks" made a couple off-season trades...ect. For whatever reason....(quirky?) I happened to lean in the small minority point of view on some Yankee issues.....Of course I could could end up on the wrong (or right) side as well as others who could also be wrong (or right) more often than not. And it's only "natural" that I, with the minority view on more issues (about the Yanks) with many MORE regular posters is going to need to spend a bit more time with exchanges, replies and commentary. I know what "the board" wants and expects...I understand and will cooperate. But I didn't plan on being the tiny minority point of view on some of these Yankee issues just for the heck of it.....that's where the chips fell, lol I've shown how much respect I have for you by spending lengthy time on this reply. We all want to see the Yanks do well and THAT is a very strong common denominator. And I HAVE told a couple of posters, on more than one occasion that I enjoy and appreciate having discussions and dialogue with them. That's all - I'm finished with THIS If it's okay with you.
So...............................................................................................how about these Yankees?
You tell him! Lol! Bio mechanically speaking, youth ball is the prime culprit according to a lot of experts. Nolan Ryan would also like to see the mound lowered back to old standards.
I would with NO DOUBT, have to agree with that statement, as I've more than seen Kids in LL, with Ass-Clowns for Mgrs, and Coaches, who encourage breaking balls, curves, sliders, et al. Coaches, in LL often don't know any more about baseball than what they've seen on TV..... For any Coach to encourage breaking pitch's over pinpoint accuracy; then develop into hitting the frames of the K-Zone. Hitting the targets of: up, down, in, out, (with a change up), usually held similar to a knuckle ball in lieu of breaking pitches, is the ONE method, that I've used with LL'grs, and it effing works every time....... On top of the claim kids being taught all the wrong things......: : : I once had a discussion with a M.D. over this very issue, and he said, most kids bones don't develop enough in their youth, not until approx: 16 Yrs of Age on, do those bones become completely developed.....even then, there's numerous possibilities to being successful in Youth Sports, without Kids throwing breaking balls..... another Alma Mater MLB Player, from my own High School, Frank Slaton, (drafted by the Seattle Pilots, still the Wins Leader for the Brewers), did NOT Pitch until he was a SR. in High school.....
