I saw that live on the news as it happened a couple of years ago. I have to admit that for just a second I questioned atheism and almost found god.
It was fine in the St Johns area. Just went 15 on side streets and steered clear of all the bumblefucks doing donuts.
It was fine in the burbs this morning except for that one lady gunning it in her Mustang and fishtailing all over the damn place near Costco, but the ice sticking down now might make things rough.
I couldn't drive down the mountain to work tonight...slick, thick black ice everywhere..my place is about 800ft in elevation and it's really dangerous to even walk on that road right now. Had to get a sub and just stay in.
I drove home at 8am from my night shift job...in second gear...25 mph for about 8 miles last two going up a steep grade...it's really bad and not a snow plow to be seen yet ..even my monster truck neighbor is staying put and that never happens
Blazer-1 is about to land in the next 30 min....... Everybody on the plane is worried about our guys getting home safe. I'm in NE Portland not far from the airport, so I'm not very concerned. I've got that German AWD action going! Sent from my Baller-Ass 5.5" iPhone 6+......... FAMS
Here is the current traffic map, http://koin.com/traffic/interactive-traffic-map/ Lots of places fucked. Some might want to stay at the Sheraton if they have vacancies. Also 4wd/awd work in snow, it's the ice that is causing the problems.
Yeah I have a Subaru and I want no part of driving in this shit. Ice is ice. Awd sure does drive in snow like a champ though
I can still get my wifes Q5 with blizzaks controlled sliding on the ice. Hell I roll up to the mountain every weekend (for the last 15 yrs) to ride and while I can rally like Ken Block in the snow, when its just hard ice that's a different story. Studless helps a ton, but you still have to drive ultra careful, SPECIALLY making sure you watch for other people using their all-seasons or summers.
Over 50 here in Bandon. Suppose to be bright and sunny with highs near 60 later this week. So damn nice and calm on the bar and ocean today, I wanted to leave for So Cal. Can't though, Basketball practice starts Wednesday.
