I think housing was naturally more affordable then. Affordable housing wasn't needed as much. Sounds like he was someone who worked hard and made good choices. Maybe plundered a ship or two.

Yes, and that's why people who are obsessing about Trump are missing the point. The SYSTEM is FUCKED. 8 years ago it was Trump, now it is Elon. There will be more. There will be worse. The system that allows this is the problem, less so are the actual candidates.

    It is

The GOP completely sold out the people and the DEMS forgot the people and focused to hard on Trump. They screwed up bad.

Neither side looks good right now. I agree.

So then why are we both sidesing this when the threat is right in front of us? A streamlined coherent tackling is how this works, but we have no one fighting for us because of both sidesing

But you just made my point. You think of affordable housing as a policy. It was a given back then. It wasn't a consideration because it was actually affordable. It's beyond hilarious to hear someone say affordable housing had nothing to do with their success. lol

Because the Democrats made the conditions of where we're at today possible just as much as the GOP did. That's why. Look, I'm much more on the side of Democrats, that is why I am more critical of them. The GOP is totally garbagio and there's no conversation to be had there. There are good progressives in the Democratic party who don't take PAC money. The only way our situation gets fixed is by rightfully criticizing both sides, not one. Because both sides made today possible. It didn't come out of nowhere.

You have been contending that both sides are just as bad and we are screwed either way. We would be a good deal better off had Kamala won. We'd still have problems with the system...that's the nature of a two party system that is ever battling for different things.

People wouldn't be in fear of losing their livelihoods or in fear because of their sexuality, gender, or politics. We wouldn't have an administration trying to dismantle the entirety of the federal government which the people rely on.

    Why?

Certainly, if you literally cannot afford any sort of housing at all, and have to sleep on the street, then you are fucked. And no question, a lot of people today are in that situation.

But, if you can afford some sort of housing, even it is a roach-infested dump or shared with 7 of your least-closest friends, how does that keep you from success in your chosen profession?

It doesn't, because I lived in places fitting those descriptions.

I'm saying it didn't have to do with his according to him, because things were better then. Since then it's got all fucked up. Mass inflation has caused a necessity for affordable housing because people's salaries aren't enough any more to compete with the prices of rent, bills, and goods. Me and you are a bit younger than Barfo. Our journeys have required affordable housing.

We are screwed either way, yes I believe that. I also agree that the conditions under Kamala would be better. I've said this over and over again.

Well, that's not true. Plenty of people were fearing of losing their livelihoods, that's why they voted the other way.

    Agreed.

They weren't in fear like they are now of losing their livelihoods. There weren't bulk firings and the threat of losing medicare and social security to cuts. There weren't tariffs that were causing companies to lay off employees in mass. Etc etc.

No argument that it is worse now, but that's doesn't negate that the entire system and both parties are not going to lead Americans to a prosperous place.

I'd love that. The origin of all our problems starts with money in politics. How do we get it out? Nobody is even proposing to do so because both parties are bought.

AOC and Bernie aren't bought. They don't accept PAC money. We need to pressure Democrats to support candidates like that.

If the party would have handled it better in respect to allowing several candidates the opportunity at convention, Trump wouldn't be president now. Kamala was like running a 4th string qb in the Super Bowl.

What's their motivation when you have dimwits who continue to scream "blue no matter who"?

If dems use the same playbook and not try and appeal to middle America some, they lose again.

They'll get enough votes to win.
