John Gore has been announced as head of Civil Rights Division. Mr. Gore has been busy defending North Carolina's antigay, anti-labor Hate Bill 2, the one that has cost the state millions. Antigay legislation has not, however, been his primary focus. His main work in recent years has been defending racially biased redistricting that gerrymanders to restrict Black and Latino representation. Mr. Gore is very consistent on civil rights, he opposes all of them. Meanwhile, Texas passed the most stringent voter restriction law in the country. The Justice Department sued and a judge issued a scathing opinion that the law was deliberately written to disenfranchise Black and Hispanic voters. The state appealed, twice, and lost both appeals as the judges in those cases said the same. They went to the District Court, known as the most conservative in the country. This is the court used to invalidate everything from overtime pay to environmental regulations to gay rights. This court agreed the law was racially biased but could not decide if it was deliberate, so referred back to the original judge. The hearing was supposed to be tomorrow, but the Trump administration asked for indefinite postponement. As Trump has repeatedly lied about millions of illegal votes, it is expected that the hearing will never happen and the racist law stand. Make America Jim Crow again!

That's because you, and I, and all Americans, are included equally. Our President sees us all as equals. You are special in the same sense that we all are special. You are not better, or extra-special, nor am I. There is no special page for green-eyed, heterosexual caucasian lifelong Democratic voters who voted for Trump, and there never has been. I'd be alarmed if there were and you'd be screaming something unintelligible about Nazis if there were. I'm sorry you object to being treated as an equal American. Maybe that was never your true desire. Maybe you think you're better than some, maybe not. Hard to hear your message through all the irrational hate.
