I have never used Uber or Lyft but I know my two younger kids use it often. It's been pretty good for them, but my son has had a few issues as a couple times they have gone to the alley way of their house and then end up one block over by their GPS. They even tried to get him for a no show when they never made it to the actual address.
Can always give your ride to your kids and get a new one. Step it up to something fancy and earn more driving Uber black.
Tell him to turn on live location and then the driver can see exactly where the rider is, or at least where their phone is.
Even taxis won't pick you up at some locations. I learned that the hard way while trying to catch a ride to the airport. Ended up calling a friend. Barely made it on time.
Wouldn't just giving an address accomplish what the driver needs? I know that's how I find a lot of locations these days. For the most part they have had pretty good service but he did mention these couple of situations.
Not always, some addresses aren’t clear cut. Some address numbers aren’t posted, some mapping is off but a few dozen yards. Might not sound like a lot, but I’ve been called to several addresses where the mapping system actually puts the address on one road while the side road or back alley is where the person is expecting to be picked up. Especially tricky in condo or apartment complexes. Many will have one address like 1155 E. Elm number 143. The 1155 is where the mapping puts us even though 143 might be five buildings over. Turning on live location let’s us see where they are within a couple feet.
Usually addresses are fin. The worse one is when people put in bus stops or train stops. The mapping on those are terrible and I’m not going to drive around for 15 minutes hoping to figure it out.
lol, yeah, I can see that being difficult. That's the one problem I see with Uber or Lyft is not being able to identify it as your ride like a cabbie with the bright colors, taxi sign and lighted sign on top. Get a outside sound system where you can call out going by the stop and say "anyone looking for an Uber ride?"
Well they have my make and model and if I can’t find someone, first I text them something like “I’m parked in front of the cleaners with my hazards on”. Then if I don’t get a response within a minute or two I call. If no answer or if they still aren’t able to communicate I cancel and leave.
Not sure the exact rules, but I don't think I can be an Uber Black driver......dviss could though, right? #BAM
Uber is a pretty seriously evil corporation. Lyft might be also, but I don't know about it, so I use Lyft. barfo
