I was speaking about Catholic pedophiles....and not that specific school....but the problem that is pretty universal...I never went to school in Portland but in Iowa a gym teacher was fired for flirting with her gym students. It's not exclusive to any particular school but it seems priests have the best cover up to hide it with the vows they take. It was a side note but hey....you said those schools are creepy...I don't know that at all.
deep take.....that would include the abused student...now not only abused but tagged as a weirdo....got it...
You'd have to go to school in Portland to know what we are talking about. I went to a nearby private high school as well, but it was a little more mainstream. Caitlin Gabel/OES were pretty isolated.
Those schools are kinda cult like. Parents think they're super parents for sending their kids there. The only way for this much abuse to stay hidden for this long is a fuck of a lot of adults ignoring a ton of problems. @EL PRESIDENTE wasn't victim shaming, he was pointing out that the culture of those schools, from teacher to parent is fucking weird. And I agree.
Its like the same kind of people that would homeschool their kids, but don't since they are rich and can't be bothered to take their time to do so. If you found out that someone you meet went to these schools it would be a "ohhhhhhh", and then try to step away as soon as you can.
Or the kids who went to CG and OES and then could "only" get into a state school. Those poor sacrificing parents. It's the private schools unfair quota system holding their precious angels back.
I have known several students and parents from Catlin Gable and OES and never found them any different as my son played with several palyers from Catlin and OES in soccer. elpresidente is an extremely biased person and speaks negatively of women as well as other groups of people..
Then how do you explain decades of abuse and coverups? Cup, your soccer example is similar to saying you've known several black students and parents and since no one ever yelled the N word at them when you were around there is no racism.
I'm just saying that if you're going to view this using a very tiny lense you're going to miss a lot.
and when people say parents and students are weirdo's and I have experience that says the ones I have associated with aren't weirdo's then I will go with my opinion rather than a generalization of the whole group. I think it's poor judgement to classify any group as if they are one. Every school has their share of weirdos. That doesn't make them all weirdos. elpresidente also has a bad habit of labeling females as bitches. I judge people as individuals not as a group. It would be similar to me saying the protesters are nothing but a bunch of thugs and thiefs where we easily know that's not the case.
well I hope they address this and sort it out....at least it's being exposed even if it's gone on for decades. ...I'll stand by my original post...fuck
Back when I started at LaSalle, it did not yet have a senior class, nor could we afford a football team. But it was the first year we could participate in varsity sports. So in the fall we fielded a soccer team. In 1968, the only schools who played soccer were Catlin Gabel, OES (then Bishop Dagwell), Western Mennonite and a couple more I can’t remember. It was an exceedingly small circle. OES and Catlin were very exclusive and acted every bit of it. The kids were snots, plain and simple. It probably didn’t help that (assuming the majority of their students were Jewish) we strung strips of bacon in the trees along the path from the parking lot to the soccer field. That’s not something I’m even a little proud of, but I guess you’d have had have been there. Those two schools were insufferable when they won and even more insufferable when they lost. Most rich people suck as human beings.....
All three of my boys played classic and HS soccer and have two grandsons on the Reynolds team. My boys went to Gladstone & Milwaukie...there were a few games West Linn, LO, & CG in a tourney...I always thought the WL & LO classic team seemed Hoity Toity but was blown away on how stuck up the CB parents were. The worst were those guys from Grant though....lol jk
Yeah, before Wilsonville got it’s own high school, we were part of West Linn youth sports in general. The kids were nice enough overall, but some of the parents were stuck up dick heads. They did not want Wilsonville kids mingling with theirs and we usually were treated like bastard red headed step children, especially in baseball. When we finally got our own youth sports teams it was always a sincere pleasure to beat West Linn and listen to them whine. Nobody ever beat them fair and square. Just ask them.....And as far as LO went, I don’t think they even knew Wilsonville even existed. It was too far outside their bubble.....which was fine by us.
