<div class="quote_poster">Quoting femalehooper:</div><div class="quote_post">I personally dont think its Iverson that's the problem...i mean look at the stats since Ford took over he doesnt get the minutes like he used to his ppg are down...WHY does the coach have his best player sitting the bench??? does he not want to win?? Personally in my opinion the coach is the problem in this issue...I dont think we are seeing the whole side of the story!</div>

the sixer's record since ford took over is 7-8, or something like that
thats not great but much better than before...
seems like he is doin' something right

its like ford said, most important is the name on the front-side of the jersey, not the one on the backside
    which scenario is better?
philly wins and iverson only scores 15pt a game or ...(u know!)

Because Iverson needs to understand that he's not bigger than the team, and that no one is. He's crying that he misses coach Brown, but coach left because AI was such a pain in the ass and that he knew the Sixers wouldn't go anywhere, so he bolted to a team with potential.

Iverson needs to shut his mouth and be a real leader by giving all he's got in practice and in games and stop complaining about every little thing and stop thinking that he's God's gift to basketball...

You think Jordan, Bird, Magic and all those great players were dogging in practice? Please...

That's a slap in the face to Rodman. Dennis played hard and practiced even harder.

Dennis was always prone to miss one or two practises at times as well.....

Maybe, but he was a jerk off court!
He's game was great, his work, but he was mad and things, that's what I'm trying to say.

    But still, he wouldn't say:

    "Practice...we're talking about practice...not a real game...but practice"

    and...

"I'll do anything to help the team win..but I'm not a 6th man"

    Worm will say:

"Practice...and bring me to the film room"

    and...

"I'll do anything to help the team win..."

I think we're balming it a little to much on AI now. What about Chris Ford. What was he even thinking about questioning Iverson conditioning on whether or not he ready or not. The guy say he's ready to play. So let him play. From Sportcenter to The Best Damn Sport Show Period everyone was on Iverson side. Here's a quote from AI himself:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I don't know any franchise players that come off the bench. I don't know any Olympian that comes off the bench. I don't know any all-star that comes off the bench. I don't know any former MVP that comes off the bench. I don't know any three-time scoring champion that comes off the bench. I don't know any first-team all-NBA [player] that comes off the bench. Why Allen Iverson?"</div>

He has a point. Yeah so what he coming off from a injury. He's the team. The team cant win games without him. Well they could. But there was no way that they were going to beat the Pistons. Like Byron Scott said " No Iverson, NO CHANCE!"

For example look at the type of game that Webber had since returning from an injury. And how long hasnt he play? While Iverson is coming back from a right knee injury that kept him out for 3 games, and he was actually willing to play and the coach would make him come off the bench..Chris Ford simply WANTED to lose that game there was no way they were going to win if he didnt have Iverson in the starting role. You never know he was probably having one of those "days" again, where he would drop 40-50. Well like he said he's the franchise player. So that means once he on the court, the opposing got to re-strategize their whole game plan.

But seriously I think they were both wrong. But the thing is that everyone is blaming it on him. Just like he predicted...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">During a spirited interview yesterday, Iverson said that he felt "insulted" by Ford's plan, that he didn't have any second thoughts about rejecting it, and that he knew that people would consider him "the bad guy" because of the controversy.</div>

If Iverson didn't have an history of being arrogant and doing as he pleases all the time, we wouldn't on his case, but this just added to the list of all the stupid things he's said and done since he came to the L. How can you say you want to do anything to help the team but you won't come off the bench? That's just plain dumb, man. You know what you do? You comme off the bench and you have your best game of the year, so that then the coach looks bad. You don't go yacking off acting like you don't deserve this or that treatment, god damnit you make millions of $ and you're probably the biggest star in the league. So just shut up and play, and maybe your teammates will respect you and you can be a real leader, not an ass hole who bitches all the time. Tired of people defending his attitude, man. He wants to be the star? He should work like one, the he could talk.

Iverson forgets that Larry Bird came off the bench when he came back from an injury and Bird has more rings on his pinkie than Iverson.

I don't really think AI is the problem.Yeh he made a bad descion by not playin, but why would he come of the bench? If he thinks he is ready to play then he should be able to play his role as a starter. There are going to be changes made next season.I doubt AI will get traded but I am almost positive that the Sixers coach will not be Chris Ford.Like AI said every time a coaching issue is happening he is the villain.I think he has a point, he is an all-star,former mvp,3 time scoring champ.Nobody in these categories have ever came off the bench why AI?

Start? They said he was not expected to play.If he isn't 100% why should he play at all, maybe there is a greater risk to make the injury worst.Maybe since he isnt 100% he doesn't want to make his team worst by not being able to play to his capabilities.

First of all he isnt Larry Bird. Secondly, Larry Bird injury was much more severe than Iverson's. Larry injury forced him to come off the bench for a entire month.

But this is getting old. Iverson and Ford was both wrong for that they did. Im not taking neither side. What they need to do right now is concentrate on Memphis and try to make a push to the post season. All this drama isnt going to do any good.

I got one name for Iverson about "no allstar comes off the bench"... BRAD MILLER. He's coming off the bench now that Webber is back and hasn't complained at all. He accepts it and still goes out to play hard. Now that's a quality player.. Also a guy like Jamison, who was probably bound for a first all-star appearance sooner or later. He's now in the packed Dallas roster coming off the bench and also hasn't complained one bit. Besides this wasn't anything permanant, many players come off the bench in games after coming back from injures. Even Kobe has done it, Brand did it I think, and even SHAQ did it.

That's just complete disrespect to guys that actually do come off of the bench, and to the coach. What is so horrible about coming off of the bench? Iverson is pretty arrogant, and it's beginning to show.
