Its about leading the team and being smart. AI always looks for his shot first.</div>

It has everything to do with this conversation. Simply put, T-Mac cant bare the load he could 2-3 years ago. Look at his game now compared to 2-3 years ago, when he would drive and cut to the basket, now he makes a living off shooting the 3, mid range jumpers and running the floor.

<div class="quote_poster">Pakman Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Whichever team he goes to, he's going to look to get the same amount of shots I'm sure. He's gotten too used to it over the 10 years.

It seems like AI has been surrounded with scrubs. But, the truth is ... he never made the players around him better to an extent where you could say "this other player on the 76ers is a good player too." When Steve Nash entered Phoenix, he made a lot of players become well known and respected.

I might be wrong, maybe its just the way I view Iverson. But, even though Iverson averages 7.something assists per game, I've never viewed him as a team-oriented player.</div>A. Exibit 1. At the Olympics, was he a chucker or a facilitator? That's a perfect example of what he can do when he's surrounded by talent. He's not gonna look to take 30 shots per game when he's got other guys around him who are capable.

    B. No, it doesn't SEEM he's been surrounded by scrubs, he HAS been surrounded by scrubs. Perfect example is the 2001 team that made it to the Finals, AI averaged 31.1ppg while his highest scoring teammate was Aaron McKie who averaged 11.6ppg. The same year, he also had a career high for points scored. He then had a career year the following season, even though he only played 48 games, when he averaged 12.2ppg. Of the 3 seasons he averaged double digit scoring, two of them were with Philly, the other season was his 2nd year in the league with Portland.

    C. It's amazing how guys who score less and get less assists are viewed as "team players" yet Iverson gets no love even though he gets more assists than most of the guards in the league and is surrounded with inferior talent.

Are you basically saying that he has just gotten sorrier or what because its not that he has gotten sorrier. I believe if it wasn't for his back spasms, Rockets would've been one of the best teams in the NBA right now. Its just because of his injuries that he is settling for jumpers and threes instead of driving in, because he doesn't want to hurt his back again. If it weren't for his injuries, I bet you Tmac would have been averaging at least 25 ppg.
