I would be all for any combination of those if we didn't have to give up a 1st. Heck I would give up a 1st if they took all 3 for RoLo and Parker. That basically allows us to re-shape the role players this off-season.
ESPN RPM-wise pretty much the worst PF anyone could find. Year +/- Rank at PF 2018-2019 -4.17 93rd of 93 2017-2018 -2.88 78th of 89 2016-2017 -0.78 38th of 67 2015-2016 -3.19 54th of 56 2014-2015 -4.34 43rd of 45
Well you responded to my post and i'm not going to read tthrough various threads and posts for an answer. If you don't want to answer that's fine but then just say so.
You are proving my point, if this discussion was all contained to one thread we wouldn't have this problem. I am on record as saying that if we can get an expiring contract for Turner or Leonard (and maybe Harkless) without giving up a draft pick I will take it no matter who the player is coming back. I don't care if it makes us slightly worse this year (even though it probably wouldn't) because it would force Stotts to give developmental minutes to the younger guys and I believe that would suit this team better long term instead of trying to make ET fit in a system that doesn't play to any of his strengths. If he only played with the 2nd unit it might be different but then he'd only be playing 12 minutes a game and making $18 million next year.
Parker is a very talented player who was on a rise in Milwaukee till the injury derailed him. Chicago was a bad fit, but he was playing OK, even though the sitch in Chicago is unraveling by the minute, and a total clusterfuck. I would welcome his talent, and see if fresh air and playing with a top notch leader is just the medicine Jabari needs.
Even at his best, Parker was a liability on defense. For $20 million a season you want a guy who at least has the professional pride to put in an honest effort at both ends. http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/jabari-parker-players-dont-get-paid-for-playing-defense.333459/
Curious as to why these guys arent getting slammed by the same people who slam KS aNd others for doing this. Surely the posters here are not biased and are fair right???? FAMS!!!!
Well, Turner running the second unit has been much more productive than Napier last year on the second unit. He actually has some solid numbers off the bench. Turner and McCollum seems to be the whipping boys this year in the forum
Exactly. We could trade Turner and give Baldwin a chance to run the second unit. If that fails you start Simons’ development. Either way, it won’t affect the pleasure of getting bounced in the first round again. And if we miss the playoffs? Even better. I’d rather get a lottery pick and find out what we have, or do not have, in our younger players.
Turner and CJ have been the whipping boys for a while... . I think both are "good players", I mainly just don't believe ET fits the system well, and while he's been "better" this year I just don't think the bench unit being built around him as the main distributor is a very good long term solution. I will take the next couple games to take a step back and try to reevaluate it and try to be fair(er) to him.
This forum seems to panic easily as every team in the NBA has struggled at times this year and the loss column reflects that. It's not just the Blazers. All of a sudden that Blazers go through a struggling portion of the schedule then it's fire Olshey, fire Stotts, trade CJ, dump Turner. Blazer fans in this forum are often fickle fans. Great when the going is good and panic if signs of a struggle. I would hate to see some of these fans if they were Pelican, Spurs, Jazz, Rocket fans as they are all .500 or below and not in the playoffs right now. It's an 82 game season and ebbs and flows are to be expected,
Bruh just let it rest ffs... I'm sitting here defending you in one thread then come in here to this... You calling out people again. Let is go.
I understand, I didnt like the ET signing from day one even beyond just the contract. I try to stay grounded through wins and losses, but sure I think especially during games I at times let the passion get the best of me. Just because other teams might be having even poorer years til now doesnt mean theres anything wrong with Blazer fans who dont like what theyve seen in stretches this year. Overall I agree, we can definitely be prisoners of the moment. I think thats part of what makes us fans though.
Some of you guys think Parker will be liability on defense and then he should fit right in then. Because lately majority our team been liability on defense.
so if our defense is so poor, why would we want to make it even worse. The guys on NBA TV last night were talking about Parker and they all agreed that his offense isn;t worth the cost of his defense. It's why a high lottery pick hasn't been able to stick anywhere as he's an old school offensive player with no defense. He's an even poorer version of 2018/19 Melo.
