Cardinals pitcher Jake Westbrook had surgery on his left shoulder after the season to repair a small tear, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday. Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery within the past 10 days in Birmingham, Ala., the newspaper said. Westbrook, a right-hander, will become a free agent after the World Series concludes.
