Armon Johnson is a stud. Also, I think Crawford's decision could be holding up the possible 3-way trade with Orl/NJ

I actually thought Armon looked really good in some games last year. Just like all of the Blazers young guys, he just needs more time and probably a better coach. Nate sucks.

So it is Nate's coaching that makes Armon unable to go right?

Of course! Nate says "turn the ball over and you sit."

Armon can't handle the ball going right b/c of his 4-fingered-ness.

Armon can't go right in Nate's system.

Going to the opposite hand is a simple skill that an PG should have and Armon lacks it. Pinning that in any way, shape, or form, on Nate is just wrong.

Perhaps he needs a better player development coach then? I could also argue that Nate didn't coach him well enough to overcome this 'weakness' he may exhibit with being unable to go left. Either way, he looked good at certain points last year, he also could use more PT. However IMO, Nate isn't a good coach for the Blazers....

Armon looked good until everybody in the league realized that if you make him go right he can't do anything. Maybe he's worked his butt off trying to fix that, but it might be a little too much to ask him to have fully corrected this deficiency.

I'm no great fan of Nate, but Armon fixing this issue, is all about Armon drilling with a trainer 4 hours a day in a gym this past off-season. Developing that kind of muscle memory and skill is not something that happens once the grind of the season kicks in.

So Nate had one season with him with no offseason this year and he is the one that is supposed to fix what AAU, high school, and college could not?

Armon looked great when teams did not prepare for him. Once he got some burn, his game was exposed.

Will agree that it would be great for someone like Monty to take him under his wing. It is also up to Armon to seek help for skills he knows he lacks.

This sounds alot like the Sergio campaign that ended up with him playing in Spain. Personally I would not waste one minute on Armon if he has not clearly earned it. Really looking forward to see what Nolan Smith brings to the team.

How do we know it wasn't Nate who chopped off his finger? Notice that the team kept it a secret all last season? He and Nate probably had a fight.

I totally understand your POV. I was just saying he looked good last year. I am definitely not advocating the "Sergio campaign" for him though, lol.

Nate sucks. In this league you excel or you move on to another team. Even if it's not your fault. Moving players and coaches is how it works.

According to a source familiar with the talks, the Blazers have offered Crawford the chance to start immediately while Sacramento said he could crack the starting five by mid-season. >>>>

Wes going out? or Wes and Batum off the bench together. Crawford makes way more sense, IMO, off the bench, to spell the 1 and 2.

At the end of his current contract, when he reaches 8 straight years coaching the same team. Only 19 other NBA coaches have done it, back to the BAA in the late 1940s. He isn't in the best 20 of all time and doesn't deserve it.

Glad you remember my post! My list is in my dead computer's backup hard drive. Someday I will liberate its treasures.

I would say the key word is chance, not a given starting spot.

Source says Jamal Crawford genuinely "torn" between Blazers, Knicks, Kings. Each has strengths, weaknesses--style, playing time, win%, money
