No. The Racist Schilling criticized a GROUP of people. A whole demographic.

And let's be crystal fucking clear what he said. He shared THIS:

TRANSGENDERS HAVE THEIR PENIS REMOVED YOU FUCKING DUMBASS...

I see well sorry for fixing your post. My comment was meant to be funny, though I'm not all that funny irl. So trying to be on here might be an issue.

I don't know who Glen Beck is, nor do I really care. He sounds like an idiot.

So ESPN fired Hank Williams jr for saying something bad about Obama, but not Jamele Hill. However they did suspend her for saying something bad about a team?

Seems very different to me, though, as Williams was a vendor providing a service to ESPN, rather than an employee of ESPN as Hill is. One could argue that it makes it much more reasonable to separate from a vendor who generates unwelcome controversy. Then again, one could also say that an employee's comments are much more easily considered representative of the company than a vendor's are, and should therefore be held up to greater scrutiny.

Draw your own conclusions, I guess...

You know, you run on and on about this privilege year after year. Every since Obama used the fucking phrase,
Like a physiced Woodpecker, it's endless.
I bet you can't define the term and don't give me some bullshit article.

I'll define the term for you, as I understand it.

White privilege is essentially the many, many ways that life in America is easier (better?) on average for a white person than for a black person in similar circumstances. It encompasses myriad different examples and generalities, but that's it at a base level.

Another way to describe it might be, things in American life and culture that black people generally don't experience the same way we do--through no fault of their own--but that we take for granted as normal or universal.

Flint Michigan is a prime example of white privilege.
If it was more white they'd have drinkable water.

Perhaps this is it, but I want to hear it from dviss. Although I would say your definition is baloney.

Oh right, I guess I should repeat what I was taught as a child.
Flint Michigan is black peoples fault.
As they're more dirty, grimy and don't take showers regularly. That's why they don't have clean drinking water.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I'm not sure how you can dispute the notion that white people as a whole are on balance generally treated better by American society than black people are, but I can't see the world through your eyes, so I have no idea what you see to cause you to believe that's not the case.

She was suspended, yes, but that could have just as easily been permanent if we're going by ESPN's recent standards of harshly penalizing mildly provocative and/or off-color statements. That was certainly the case with Schilling.

I can see the equivalence with her and HWJr. I don't know anything about what Simmons said. But what schilling did was fucked up and he deserves to be fired. Equating that is just false.

Bill Simmons basically got fired for calling Roger Goodell a liar on his podcast. ESPN freaked out about that because they were afraid it would jeopardize their NFL contract.

Well Goodell is a fucking liar... I think ESPN fucked up firing him then. HWJr too. THEY are the idiots, not Jamele for expressing her opinion. Yet everyone's coming down on her.
