Regardless if Neil means it, he should most definitely say it.... publicly.

If that is the case, Neil should be let go immediately. If that is because Dame doesn't want his friend traded to make the team better, then I'm equally unimpressed with him.

I'm relieved personally.....my instincts all say fuck James Harden and his showcase. Glad the Blazers don't follow the Antonio Davis demanding a trade culture ...Harden has two years left in Houston....he should honor that or work with the front office....I don't want a guy showing a violent temper in the practice room and risking the health of our players for a night at the clubs..I hope the Rockets trade him to a bottom feeder

You always say that. Deny deny deny. Why put the team on edge. Business as usual.

Spencer Dinwiddie going down takes another trade asset away from the Nets in a Harden deal. He was up for a contract, so I doubt they want a rental with a bad ACL looking to get paid next summer.

Using "CJ defended" in any context is completely misleading.

it's demonstrable....going toe to toe against the guy rumored to be traded for you is pretty good defense if you want to keep your job

Nurk, Covington, Kantor (or Collins), Little, Simons, Trent would work financially and maybe once Hood becomes eligible to trade he could be substituted for Nurk or Covingotn, but I'm not sure if that would be enough salary. At that point could add in Collins and pull out Trent and either Little or Simons, then I think it might work.
I didn't see that they were saying Not Interested in Harden, just wouldn't trade CJ. Although financially, if they don't trade CJ, they are ruined, so I guess they are really saying Not Interested in Harden. That's just stupid.

Let’s see who does and doesn’t wanna trade for Harden after we take our ass beating tonight.

I want Harden even if we beat the Lakers 200:10 and CJ score 100 points

Oh, CJ was so brilliant and deserves a ton of credit for that performance and his offensive skills overall. I was just making a joke about his defense.

If CJ goes for 100, then we are the ones getting the draft picks in that trade

Personally, I was for acquiring Harden, but I'm not heartbroken about it. I think he'd make us better, but I don't think he'd make us a true contender since he doesn't elevate the real trouble issues. Neil's going to live and die with this core, although, I'm fairly certain he's going to run before it officially dies.

I think it fixes the issue of CJ being a ball stopper on offense. You can rest Dame and have an elite playmaker running the point in those minutes. Their defense is pretty equally below average in my book.

Harden's defense is like 150% of what CJ's is. I actually think that's what James Harden is he's 1.5 times the scorer CJ is, he's 1.5 times the passer, he's 1.5 times the defender and has 1.5 times the BBIQ of CJ. That's a gigantic leap forward in all areas.

In the area of defense specifically that big leap forward just means he's an average defender because CJ is far below average. Like in a video game out of 100, CJ would probably get a 40 and Harden would get a 60. I don't look at 2k or anything but I wouldn't be surprised if those were their actual ratings... or since it's video game world where they're trying not to piss players off CJ is a 50 and Harden is a 75 but that's not accurate because CJ isn't half the defender the best perimeter defender in the league is and Harden isn't three fourths of the way there either.

If Houston trades Harden they will send him east and they will get much more than we can over unless we include Dame.

OK... so we can relax Blazers world. Neil isn't turning down Harden for CJ or anything crazy like that. NBA Central just took old articles from Quick and pieced them together and applied them to the current situation. That's some bullshit... maybe we should all have a lot more respect for Neil or maybe not but we can't base it on the idea that he "staunchly rejected" trading CJ in a package for James Harden which would have been grounds for torches and pitchforks.

What an overpayment. As the Houston fans say, they won't get an offer that good. I'd give only McCollum and Collins, because I want to get rid of them anyway.

If I had to add a 3rd player, it'd be Simons. No more. If Simons went, we'd need a new 4th guard, Hood, our new catch-and-shoot, mediocre dribbler, like Crabbe. Little has too much potential to go.

That's the standard lying line. He'd ruin McCollum's focus if he said otherwise.

The tweet doesn't accurately reflect its source? I haven't read the article. What's the article's quote backing up the tweet, or failing to back it up?
