I think this is the trade from Houston's end.

We manage to get even worse defensively, but would our offense improve enough to make up for it?

So here is my thinking, if we can get Harden without giving up Nurk and obviously Dame we do it. We see how it goes with Dame, Harden and Nurk... maybe it's a Portland dynasty. If Harden is completely incompatible with our culture, Dame and/or both then we move him for pieces that actually fit around Dame.

Sure, if we can use two or three balls at a time.

Agreed. If he wants out, or we want out after this season, he will still have plenty of value. And with no bug free agents, and lots of teams with space, we run the risk of losing guys like Trent and Zach anyways

Like I said, we see if it works and if it doesn't we move him for pieces that fit better than what we currently have. Whatever we trade, as long as we're keeping Dame and Nurk, will not be as valuable immediately as Harden will be in a potential flip. I would trade CJ, Zach, Gary and picks for what the Nets are offering or for what Philly is offering. So we can turn around and get that if it doesn't work.

I think Harden only has us on his list because of Dame but if that trade is a possibility we have to... say fuck no!

with harden, you might gonna have a chance to win a chip (lakers showed what it means to have two top 10 or top 5 players)

as things stand now, blazers wont win a chip for sure

i wouldn't even bother with a harden expt, and ship him immediately to Philly for Simmons in a three way.

    here's the framework

    upload_2020-12-24_18-52-54.png

    Then you start:

    Dame/Trent/Cov/Simmons/Nurk

with Simmons/Jones/Hood/Melo/Enes off the bench as your nine man rotation. Also opens up a few roster spots to allow us to get a legit backup PG

I had said that before. I would hope if we were doing that, that we could keep Gary or get one of Philly's young guards that can shoot. Something like:

    https://tradenba.com/trades/pDr1gJnqI

Plus us sending picks to whichever team needs them to make it work... obviously it would most likely be multiple picks to Houston.
