<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It was a good news/bad news Thursday for the Trail Blazers. The good news was that it appears sharp-shooting forward James Jones has recovered from a left knee injury and will play Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Rose Garden. The bad news is that All-Star guard Brandon Roy is doubtful to play Friday because his sprained right ankle is still experiencing pain. Jones, who has missed the last 12 games with a sore left knee, is officially being listed by Blazers officials as a game-time decision, but coach Nate McMillan on Thursday said Jones is "pretty close" to returning to his reserve role. Jones is averaging 9.1 points while shooting 48.3 percent from three-point range. The Blazers went 3-9 during his recent absence and are 8-16 this season when he doesn't play. "He's most likely going to go,'' McMillan said. "But we are going to keep our options open and list him as a game-time decision.''</div> Source
