Nov 9 - The Trail Blazers have decided to informally shelf forward James Jones for an indefinite amount of time because of his aching left knee.

Jones will remain on the team's active list, and will suit down for games, but coach Nate McMillan said he will use Jones only in an emergency.

"We want to see if we can get him better,'' McMillan said after Thursday's practice. "We tried to give him rest, and right now, that's not working. He's not getting any better.'' -- The Oregonian

[*]"Hopefully I have a medical breakthrough which will allow me to heal rapidly or have a lot of progress," Jones said. "It's one of those things where I can still breathe, so I feel like I can play. But at some point I guess it probably becomes a detriment than a plus because I'm out there and I'm not capable of doing anything I need to get a team a win." -- Vancouver Columbian
