I like this trade. We have Jameer man, Jameer. I don't think he would start right away but when he does he will get the job done or at least help out in a big way. If we do get Steve I want to trade him for Allen making our line up look even more great.

Tyronne Lue are you getting ready to say goodbye to your starting position? Jameer was by far the steal of the draft last night, he will fit great w/ the Magic, especially with young Dwight Howard.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Pure Skillz:</div><div class="quote_post">He has proven everyone wrong since high school when people said he was to small. He will perform great he may be small but he is built. I love his personality and work ethic and is a great person loved him since his first year at saint joes. He will do well. Hopefully.</div>
Hey don't get me wrong.. I actually love smaller guards, nothing against his height.. I just have questions if this guy can start, and if we are getting Steve Francis, this guy is nothing more than a back up..

I'm very glad that Jameer got traded. He is a top 15 player in the draft and now with the Number 1 draft pick(howard) they will be great together. I see him as another version of Damon Stoudamire and could be better. And now with Orlando possibly getting Francis, Mobley and Cato, Orlando has a very bright future ahead.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting sportsrock37:</div><div class="quote_post">No it doesn't Tmac_OwnZ. Why trade a future 1st for a backup PG? Maybe Weis is trying to keep Tmac, then it would be the right choice. We need a starting PG and Jameer gives us that. He would be a perfect fit for Tmac, a pass 1st pg. He would give Tmac the damn rock.</div>

The Magic don't don't have to give up that 1st round pick right away. I read somewhere they can wait till 2007 to give that pick to Denver. It was a win-win for both team IMO.

I will laugh if Jameer turnsout to be a better player than Howard.

Man those guys are idiots. Jameer will shock everyone this season. Yall wait and see. That's why he'll be my favorite player on the Magic if T-mac leaves

The 2007 thing is by protection. I'm not sure the details, but I'm expecting it to be something like it's lottery protected 2005 draft.(If we make the playoffs they get it) Top 5, 2006 draft(We lose it if we don't get a top 5 pick), then in 2007 it would either be unprotected or protected only if we get the #1 pick. Don't quote me on that, but I am almost positive that it is by protection and the 1st time that it is out of our protection range, that they get it. So we really don't have a choice unless we tank to miss the playoffs.

It sounds dumb to trade that future pick that could be the #1 pick for a backup PG if we do the Franchise deal. So Weis probably has something up his sleeve. Jameer should be a good pick. I wouldn't say he will be better than Dwight. Man, have confidence in Dwight guys. You guys act like he's already been in the league for 3 years and is producing just like Kwame. Give the guy a chance. Dwight is basically the focal point in our rebuilding now.

I loved what Doc Rivers said during the draft, "I don't beleive in the word rebuilding, because it usually means you will lose for the next 3 or 5 seasons" lol that is good.

I like Jameer, but we are looking really stupid trading that future 1st away for him, if he will be a backup. Please let Weis have something up his sleeve.

The future first that we traded is washington's pick from the haywood trade. So at least it isn't ours. But it might of been a good pick down the line, I don't know if it was protected or not.

Still the Wizards always get injured or struggle, the pick will still be a lotto. You know Pat Williams's luck with lotto, it could have been #1.

I read if it's a Top 3 pick the Nuggets CANNONT get it. Anything lower is game. The Magic have until 2007 to decide when they want to give up that pick. THey'll probably wait until Wizards havea "decent" season.

Im really glad that we got Nelson. Cuz when he was drafted 20TH!!I was mad. But why did they get him if they have Stevie. Unless their gonna have him as a backup or trade Steve for somebody.
