So, we can put away the "free speech" concerns. I don't know why that's even been brought up. "Free speech" is an amendment protecting citizens and organizations from censorship by the government. It only applies to government censorship. Nothing else. If a theater kicks you out for calling out spoilers, your right to free speech has not been abridged. If a bar kicks you out because you're yelling obscenities, your right to free speech has not been abridged. And if a social media company kicks you off the service because you're engaging in what they consider to be violent or hate speech, your free speech has not been abridged. Private companies are allowed to set the rules for using their services. This very forum has rules and has banned people for breaking them. If you want to call that censorship, you're free to. Doesn't change the fact that every organization has their own standards for the environment they want. Disneyland probably also wouldn't allow Trump to say the things Twitter kicked him off for. It's pretty standard.
This brings up something I've been meaning to mention. Trump has been kicked off of Twitter, Facebook, etc. It is only a matter of time until he starts posting here at S2. I think we mods need to be ready for that. barfo
