I was chastised as "crazy" and other things for (a) not thinking that Roy is a top 10 player yet, and (b) stating that most non-Blazers fans would agree with me that he is not. It's less a matter of me thinking Quick knows what he's talking about than that people were so quick to disregard my statement of popular opinion as silly. Ed O.
You're asking a different question. Net present value (which is what I would draft based on) is not the same as current capabilities and stature. Ed O.
And we thought JQ's picks were bad, take a look at Chris Sheridan's of ESPN (it's in today's Dime): First Team: LeBron James, Paul Pierce, Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade. Second Team: Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, Yao Ming, Tony Parker, Chris Paul. Third Team: Pau Gasol, Chris Bosh, Shaquille O'Neal, Deron Williams, Chauncey Billups. I can maybe understand putting one of TP and DW over Roy, but leaving Roy off completely, in favor of both of those AND Chauncey Frickin' Billups... whoa. He did say that he puts a premium on winning... oh wait.
