I never called Miller a cancer. Dumb sentence. I loved John Stockton's game. He's my favorite PG in history, as I've posted for years.
I never said you called Miller a cancer. Dumb response to my sentence. So we agree that he has a lot to teach.
I think it was pretty black and white. Would the team have made the playoffs without Miller the past two seasons? Simple yes or no question.
I was brainstorming to try and help us understand why a productive player like Miller would cause his teams to lose playoff series when they were generally always the favored team. Isn't it possible that he was a cancer that demoralized his teammates and made them play below their capabilities? Roy, for example, was much worse in this year's playoffs as compared to the playoffs before Miller joined the team.
How can this question be answered? It's a dumb question, as I've already posted, and there is no definitive answer. The fact is the team stagnated, at best, with Miller as their PG. That's my answer.
I think it's really easy to answer. You can either say "yes".... or you can say "no". The team was either good enough to still make the playoffs without Miller on the team, OR the team wasn't good enough to make the playoffs without Miller on the team. I don't see how you're so confused by the question. I think you're dodging it because it blows your stupid assertion that he didn't make a difference out of the water.
Miller hasn't been a playoff failure, he's been a regular season failure. He has never been on a team that got home court advantage. The old Roy had home court advantage and couldn't get his team out of the first round.
Honestly, I think it's an unanswerable question based solely on opinion. I'll deal with reality, and you can construct your little fantasy land.
That's exactly what I said. Re-read it. I said Roy was much better in the playoffs BEFORE Miller joined the team. That would be the Houston series. I was pointing out that Roy played much better in the playoffs before Miller came along, as a data point that Miller makes his teammates worse. It's not a smear. I'm just brainstorming. What's your theory on why a productive guy like Miller makes his team lose playoff series where they're favored, like this year's Portland/Dallas series?
If we didn't have Andre Miller as our starting PG we would've had Patty and Armon playing nearly 48 combined minutes a game. Yes I'd love to get an upgrade over Dre but it's delusional to think the team would be just as competitive with those two scrubs running the show.
There you go, dodging the question again. You must play for the Los Angeles Dodgers. You probably live in Dodge City. You mostly likely drive a Dodge Ram. There's a very good chance you love playing Dodge Ball. Your point that Miller didn't make a difference is a statement based solely on opinion, so what's stopping you from answering this question that you think is based solely on opinion?
Ah, got it. Or not, since you just edited you post. I'm having trouble keeping up with three conversations. Editing makes it more difficult. It's not a smear. I'm just brainstorming. What's your theory on why a productive guy like Miller makes his team lose playoff series where they're favored, like this year's Portland/Dallas series?[/QUOTE]
Roy wasn't injured in the Houston series and the Phoenix one he was coming back early from surgery and well the Dallas one with the exception of one game he was a shell of his former self. Miller and LMA have carried this team on there backs the last two seasons, that is my opinion. You don't have the same opinion PapaG (at least with Miller), that's okay fans are allowed to disagree with each other, its what makes forums fun to post in. Back onto the topic of the forum MILLER FOR CP3 DO IT CHAD!
Something tells me we're going after Tony Parker. First off, Harris has been on the block for a while now and we didn't want him enough to get him. And secondly, WoJo just wrote that Parker was being shopped. Obviously I am just guessing, but my guess is we want Parker.
PapaG doesn't like subjective opinions. That was his position about Outlaw's basketball IQ or lack thereof. It was subjective and therefore invalid. That's why PapaG never makes subjective statements. He just provides facts and he can't help it if they're odd (and troubling?) facts.
