even more-so than when your dark cloud is raining on every page of every thread? look! there's a tiny glimmer of hope over there....quick now MM...go rain on it and kill that glimmer! j/k
I'm a native Oregonian. Born and raised here. So, while at times I appreciate the rain; there are times I don't. I usually don't bitch about the weather but these last 2 winters (and springs) have tested my patience (my patience was tempered by living in Juneau, AK for 4 years....that place has shit for weather) the fires in 2020 and that crazy heat dome in 2021 didn't help either
Siakam. He's proven that you can actually run the offense through him. Also, you can have him as a small ball 5. He would provide a versatility that Brown wouldn't necessarily bring. The only drawback is if Grant isn't quick enough to guard 3s.
There's a reason he's played mostly at the 4. I'm not sure he's quick enough to defend the opposing 3s but if the team thinks he can work alongside Siakam, I think that would be great.
I think Bridges is the # 1 guy on their list. Here's a thing that could be interesting. Say the Blazers get the #1 pick and draft Wemby. Do they re-sign Jeremy, or go after Bridges with Wemby as the 4. Would Ant plus 3 picks net (pun intended) them Mikal in a trade. Nurk , Wemby, Bridges, Sharpe, and Dame. Then work on the bench with key additions like Seth Curry.
I could see a world where Bridges costs more. Locked into a longer contract at an affordable rate, a bit younger. Though, I contend that Siakam is actually better. I thought the idea was to get bigger? Siakam also gives us a backup center. I like either and I think Siakam is a tad bit more likely if they think Grant can play some 3. Siakam can do a lot of what Draymond does in terms of distribution of the ball. I would be happy with either but I'd like to see the cost. You HAVE to re-sign Jeremy. It isn't a question. You get nothing by letting him go. If I was Brooklyn, I would probably take Ant + 3 or 4 picks plus swaps. Bridges will be 30 by the time they are in any place to compete imo. Blazers could also use a Royce O'neal or Dorian Finney-Smith as well to come off the bench.
I think he can guard most 3's. (The bigger ones) But against small-ball lineups, he might have to play the 4 with Siakam at the 5. (Thybulle at the 3)
I think those of us who are pessimistic in the current roster get just as frustrated from the sunshine and rainbow homers as they do with us doom and gloom messengers of death.
I suppose it depends even then. Are we giving up simons and picks? Then i want siakim back to balance the roster better. are we giving up nurk and little and picks?
I see you are running with my messenger of death nonsense... I've given you some shit lately...hope you aren't offended because I didn't mean anything by it. I think you have a pretty thick skin...like me...
All good. If some person typing letter on the internet that I've never and will never meet offends me then Id have way deeper problems than my Blazers opinions.
How about yes or yes. Whichever you think is most realistic. I didn't want to get super specific as then people could nitpick why only in this or that case it's one of them, or why those proposals are an unlikely scenario, etc. I'd say just in general the Blazers can acquire either guy, who do you get?
Tough but i go with brown. As much as i think Siakim might he better overall i think dame, brown and sharpe can coexist, where im not sure of Grant and siakim can? but if they could? I definitely take Siakim.
