That would be too complicated. Just insinuate that they have WMDs and watch the job being done for you!
I apologize. I was under the impression that every thread started by you was open season, and that the plagiarized article that is now deleted was merely a way of initiating the ensuing chaos. I'd comment on the thread, but I don't know what it was about since the post got deleted.
well fortunately I'm not a Blazers mod so I would hope I'm not on the chopping block. Dodged a bullet there.
I think the rebounding is a big concern, as is the defense- we should be much better at both. Our frontline is decimated, but Camby and Wallace are strong rebounders.
Jaynes' observation is, or ought to be, glaringly obvious. What a weird thing to start a flame war over.
While rebounding is important, it is worth noting that of the Top 10 teams in rebounding rate, only 6 of them are/will be in the playoffs. 4) Minnesota 5) LA Clippers 7) Sacramento 7) Charlotte won't be in the playoffs. Portland is tied at 19th with Atlanta and Boston.
It is an interesting point... rebounding seems important for any given game, but over time rebounding doesn't seem too strongly correlated with success. Ed O.
I wouldnt say it has correlation to success. But I still think it cant hurt you like overdribbling, overpassing, or shooting too much can.
wow the game of basketball is really evolving....i didnt know rebounds were more important that actual points now? as long as we have more points at the end of the game than our opponent thats okay with me. Jaynes bitches because he is a journalist and hes supposed to....MIXUM....who knows
Rebounding alone won't make a bad team good. OTOH, getting outrebounded is like having more turnovers than the other team. You are giving away possesions, and making life harder for yourself. You can't score if the other team has the ball, and you create needless pressure on your defense.
Legally, we can not allow you to post an article in its entirety. If we allow it to stand, we are liable for copyright infringement. To make matters worse, you don't even cite the source with a link. This has nothing to do with bias. 99.9% of the other posters understand this rule, adhere to it, and have no problem with it. You are the only one who seems to have a problem understanding that you can't post someone's work A) in its entirety, and B) without citing them properly.
I'm late to this fascinating thread but in my opinion any thread that starts off with - isn't going to end well and the majority of discussions aren't going to be about basketball. And just so you know Mixum I closed one thread yesterday because S2 members and mods only wanted to argue about things that had nothing to do with basketball. I issued a fair warning and when the arguing wouldn't end I close it.
He re-edited it. I had edited the post to say that he could not post an article in its entirety and without proper citation.
Rebound rate accounts for that, though. It's total percentage of available rebounds for a team vs. their opponent.
