Re: Jays attempt massive deal for Marlins' All-Stars Some reports are saying the deal is made, others that it isn't complete. Miami fans are irate.
Re: Jays attempt massive deal for Marlins' All-Stars Reyes and Buehrle are four-time All-Stars, Buehrle is a four-time Gold Glove, and Johnson is a two-time All-Star who came 5th in Cy Young voting in 2010. The Jays take back over $150-million in committed salaries in the trade.
Re: Jays attempt massive deal for Marlins' All-Stars The Jays still need a manager and some better outfield players (that can hit) but this deal could push them into Playoffs contention for the first time in many years.
The League has approved the Jays-Marlins trade. The Cabrera signing was contingent on this trade going through so the Jays are expected to announce Cabrera in the coming days. GM Alex Anthopoulos will meet with media tomorrow morning to discuss both deals and what's still in store for the Jays this off-season.
