A chronic inability to break the barriers of 10 pt per or 5 reb kind of made him look like a weak pick in the lottery-and he was a no show for combines as well as predraft camp games. If he was not at least top 15-his rookie check would not cover his buyout. Finally....he did reach 10 pt and 5 boards and so if 4th string C is our priority-he's qualified. The hype has faded since he's now the age of a college senior and is a usable plasyer but certainly no impact guy.

With Jason Smith a lot quicker, with Fazekas a MUCH better shooter and MUCH better rebounder....why we'd want Splitter baffles me.

I don't see what's wrong with drafting a solid rotation guy, versus drafting a guy that might not even be able to play in the first three years of the nba. International competition has gotten a lot better and Splitter plays for one of the best teams in Europe. I think he'll be able to contribute despite what the stats say. I don't recall that many Euros having great stats either. It's a different game over there, I guess. But Splitter's abilities could translate very well if the Warriors are definitely sure he will come over. He might pull a Fran Vasquez in a different way. He's getting older, he better do it soon.

Thats according to Johnathan Givony from the Washington Post. If thats the case I can see Splitter slipping a lot because teams don't want to burn a first round pick on a guy whos not coming over until 2008-09 season.

    Jason Smith then? [IMG]

Actually, if Thadeus Young is the warriors consensus BAP, I could live with that too.

But... I'm not sure if he's a basketball player. He needs more work.
