Lehner out for Varlamov. Lee out for Panarin. The Isles win those moves. Not sure they are SC type moves, but they are better for them, and are in the mix for a run for sure. Even at 11.5 per Panarin is a big get at 28. If Lou was their GM instead of Snow they would have been a real threat with all those high picks and Tavares. Lucky for the non-Isles fans the inept Snow was running the show.
Good for Zucc: Pierre LeBrunVerified account@PierreVLeBrun6m6 minutes ago More Pierre LeBrun Retweeted Michael Russo All signs pointing to Zuccarello signing with the Wild. Hearing five years and $6 M aav or around there
Bob McKenzieVerified account@TSNBobMcKenzie2h2 hours ago More Who’s still looking for a No. 1 goalie? CBJ? CAR? Lehner and Mrazek still very much in play. In other news, as @RussoHockey has been suggesting, Mats Zuccarello to MIN on a five-year deal in the $6M range, give or take $200K, is quite likely to happen tomorrow.
Apparently Columbus made a last ditch offer of 8/96m. Probably will go to the wire but it dosen't seem he would want to go back to Columbus either way. I could see the Rangers going up to 12m.
The reality of the situation has always been that the Rangers couldn't afford Panarin, Trouba was a better move. Until they weigh Hanchor the Rangers aren't going to do much. All Gorton can continue to do is shed Sather's awful contracts. I'd rather have CK back than Panarin.
There’s A LOT of dead weight contracts on this team. Staal, Smith, Hank, Shatty. That’s a lot of money tied up in players who just aren’t worth what they’re making. I wish the Rangers could buy out Hank’s contract more than anyone else’s as his contract from day one was a bad signing. We paid him all that money for what he had done, not for the future. He’s a good 2-3M overpaid and with his declining skill (yes, even with a porous D in front of him Hank’s skills are VERY MUCH in decline) there’s zero chance of trading him, even if he waived his NMC.
I don't think Lundqvists skills are all that much in decline. Once the team was bound to be non-playoff and the poor D around him stunk, he loses a little focus but i think he will have a much better year. He's still in great physical and mental shape.
I don't know how reputable or right Incarcerated Bob is usually but he put out about 10 min ago that we signed Panarin.
That would make sense why we traded Vesey for only a 3rd round pick...needed the cap space. It’ll be interesting to see.
Wow, sounds like it's happening. Have to think Smith is gone in the next buyout period and one more trade. I'd still look to keep Kreider.
Rangers sign panarin and rebuild is officially over. Rumor is 7 yes and 11.45. Now go sign my kreids gorton and dump all the excess ranger shit so you can do it
Hopefully Panarin Continues to put up big numbers and doesn’t regress like most players do after signing with the Rangers
