That’s an awfully small front court. We were basically a slightly better than .500 team with that front court duo
wut? you're saying 4 picks, one of them a 5th pick + 3 other 1st's + Ant + Nurk + having to guarantee the 2024 1st to Chicago...all for Siakam? I'm sorry man...lay off the red bull and peyote
Someone said that we don't have enough to get Siakam and I telling them that we obviously do but I don't know if that would be my target if we could. I think we could probably get him for both of our firsts this year along with And and Nurk but still I don't know if I'd want to do that. A lot of people in this forum post like we don't have enough assets to get a second all star to go with Dame, Jerami and Shaedon... I attempted to show that we have more than enough.
With the new CBA each team is only allowed one Go-go Gadget Exception each season, unfortunately. Grant will have to wait, cause we making Sharpe 7 ft.
I don't think it's that we couldn't afford Hart. I just think he didn't want to be on the West Coast. Nor did his wife. And we played him out of position, so he didn't have enough success to help change his mind.
If he can't be a 3 we should be looking to packaging him for a non-tweener forward. He's not a good enough 4 for a championship team, IMO. I think he can play the 3 just fine, so a legit All Star caliber 4 would be my goal.
IMO it does not really matter if Grant is a PF or SF as long as he is matched with a different type of forward. OG for example is a 6'7 SF who weighs 230. However, I am not sure about his handles. If they go the SF route then preferably they find one who is bigger than what we have and can create his own shot.
Hart is gone, so he's not an option. All the forwards in the draft are 6'7" - 6'8" or taller. Jarace Walker is listed as 240 lbs., 6'8" with a 7'2" wingspan. "Walker has an NBA ready body."
ok...I see what you were doing. I was worried that you had finally lost your marbles...the risk all Blazer fans face, especially if they participate in a forum with the amazing battle-bots HCP & Kingspeed at this point in NBA time I think draft picks are at their lowest trade value ever. Now, that's seems generally gauged by mid and late first round picks that have been exchanged over the last year or so. And the rumors we've heard about what teams have been asking. What really worries me about that is that Cronin may be determined to trade Portland's pick and I think that depressed market for picks would reach all the way up and force Cronin into a bad trade I also think the Blazers have to really be cautious about trading picks 4-7 years out. Dame was better than ever this year but eventually he'll start to regress and the Blazers might be trading away a lottery pick or two if they aren't careful....at a time when they'd really need them I'm fairly well convinced that the Blazers won't have enough leverage with their draft pick to bring back a high value player and that the best return from that pick will be to use it. I think the performance and upside of Sharpe demonstrates that value.
I agree with this. Not that that matters, but I do. I think draft picks come in handy to sweeten deals, but not make them. Unless the pick is top 3 or so, then maybe a rebuilding team, like we should be, takes that pick for a bonafide allstar level player
With his size in mind, I like that he has range on his shot AND can put the ball on the floor and finish with a nice floater. (When needed) He and Watford would be a good duo at PF.
I hear you but without leveraging future picks and without leveraging this pick... we are basically in a rebuild that Dame said he has no interest in. I think if Joe sees things your way he'll have to tell Dame and Dame will want out because I don't think that is what they have discussed in the past. So we either overpay for a piece or two that helps us right now but might not get us to serious contender status or we essentially push Dame out. We really have to wait until after the lotto on May 16th to properly have this conversation though.
Looks like Jabari Walker. Go back and look at Jabari's highlights at Colorado. Going against mostly one and doners, and guys who will most likely never play in the NBA, he was a beast too, at times. Jarace looks like a developmental talent. I don't see Banchero .
