Should we trade for Jerami Grant?

  1. Yes, he's a very good player, and I provide evidence below

    12.8%
  2. Sure if it's not for much - I wouldn't give up the Pelicans' first rounder though

    54.7%
  3. No, he's overpaid and inefficient

    29.1%
  4. Other (explain)

    3.5%

I have been trying to think of what the Jerami Grant situation reminds me of..... and I think it's Nic Batum. I didn't want to give Batum a big contract and I really don't want to give Grant a big contract. They're both nice on paper... but they just don't impact the game the way that they should. Their stats feel hollow.

I just looked at their cap for next season. even if they renounce the rights to Kyrie, Christian Wood, Dwight Powell, Frank Ntilkina, & Marikeif Morris, they only have 20-25M in cap-space

Batum was and is more talented and versatile than Grant, although Grant seems to be a better shooter. I don't see Grant ever getting a 5 x 5

I actually think the Blazers, and Dame, missed what Batum added to the game

Batum was much younger so had more potential upside as well as less expected decline at the end of his deal.

If Grant was 25 I'd be fine with this contract. But he will be 34 when it ends.

If Grant walks away and agrees to another contract, that will be the first signal that Dame is out.
