Re: Jermaine O'neal Should've done it sooner though. Now with Diogu, they probably won't want Bynum as much. So what do you have to offer?

He is very injury prone, shoots a poor %, and IMO there are other players out there worth grabbing over an injury ridden player like him. This is a very big year for the lakers. There are a few good FA's this year (Billups and VC are the only ones I can recall), and you know there are a few superstars on the trading block (KG, possibly Kidd, possibly Gasol, etc...). Teams can be fixed up with great talent in one year's time, and they have a great chance at this. All I know is many of the players on the Lakers are losers and just won't get the team far (some are good players, but don't have the mentality or 'it' factor).</div>Well it's not like Lamar is an ironman or anything. He's missed 46 games in the last 3 seasons. The trade isn't perfect, but it's the best one they can hope for.
Re: Jermaine O'neal Wow, you guys are pretty hard on JO. His shooting percentage does not reflect his game. It reflects his teamates. Jamaal Tinsley does a terrible job of giving JO the ball where he wants it - around 10 feet away from the basket. But when JO does have the ball in a good posistion, he's guarenteed to score. There is no one who can stop him. He seriously is the Kobe Bryant of the paint. I've rarely ever seen him fail to score on a post move in the paint. Unfortuantley, Jamall Tinsley gets the ball to him with about 5 seconds on the clock, 20 feet away from the basket a lot so he is forced to take a bad shot. That is why his shooting percentage is down. And there is no such thing as being injury prone unless you're brittle. Some players are just gonna get injured more than others - it's the way luck is. JO has not been injured as much anymore and when he is he does a great job of playing through the pain.

When I imagine the Lakers winning a title, I just can't see Odom being a part of it. Yes, it'd be a good deal for the Lakers, but IMo there are better deals out there involving Odom/Bynum.

Maybe JO would play center and then have Odom at PF. Brown and Bynum would fill in for Jermaine and Lamar down low. Then you have Smush for one more year at PG until Famar is ready, plus Kobe and Walton. I like that lineup. :dribble:</div>Whoa.. whoa..No way we can get JO without giving up one of those guys.
Re: Jermaine O'neal According to Marc Stein who was on the radio yesterday, the package would look like Lamar, Bynum, AND Kwame for Jemaine O'Neal and Tinsley. Now, I want Jermaine O'Neal in a Laker uniform and all but there's no way we have to trade both of our centers and LO. The only way I would alright with trading all 3 of those guys would be for Garnett and that's not happening. I really hate giving up Lamar but it's inevitable if we truly want to get a guy like O'Neal. I just think they would be getting the better end of the deal and we need to keep at least one of these guys and add someone else. Especially, considering we are taking Tinsley off their hands.
