The reason he's starting is that Rose is hurt and the only other guy that could play the point is Jeff Teague. People seemingly agree that Hinrich would not be a good starting 2 guard next to Rose. Once Rose is back, they need to land a legit starting two guard and Hinrich will be in the bench role and hopefully be able to contribute in his bench minutes before retiring gracefully. (likely to a Chicago bulls media or front office position, whatever Pax/Uncle Jerry can find for him).
Exactly. They tied Thibs hands by giving him Kirk as the only PG. It's gotten so bad that Thibs changed the offense from being PG breakdown the defense and score whenever possible to Noah playing point C. Noah's per 36 pts/rebounds are down from last season. His FG% is down, too. So is his PER. Deng's numbers show a slight improvement. As our leading scorer, he's shooting .427, and only scoring 16.5 per game with huge minutes. Boozer's numbers are down significantly. Rip was actually healthier this year than last and looked like a player. His numbers are down, too. You'd think a good PG would make his teammates better. As a starting 2? Just wow. Have the guy who's shooting .368 SHOOT!
