What amazes me is that there is a player named T. Johnson on Miami who I’ve never heard of who makes as much money as Jimmy Butler.
Winning is obviously not his priority. Money and market is. He comes off as super phony to me, considering how much he talks about working hard and only worried about being a champion. More I read about him the more I understand that maybe he was the problem in Minnesota and in Chicago. I’d still take him though, he’s too good of a player.
Maybe he thinks he and Kyrie can play together there. But looking at their team salary next year they might need both Goran and Tyler J, to opt out of their 19 mil contracts. I guess Riley could pull it off again.
I don't think Kyrie is leaving Boston. I really don't think he wants to keep playing in LeBron's shadow. Boston has a better team and can offer him the most money. Pretty easy choice if you ask me.
Geographically, Minnesota isn't the farthest from Miami, but in terms of climate and lifestyle, it's as different as you can get. If they REALLY want to punish Butler, they should keep him. BNM
Who has spent his last 10 winters in Minnesota, Chicago and Milwaukee. I can see the appeal of warm weather and sunshine. BNM
Dunno how I feel about Kyrie. Losing him didnt change Clevelands chances of getting to the finals, or winning the finals. It also seemed to be just a bump in the road for Boston. Good player but to me a Max type player you should feel the effects of them coming and going much more than his teams have...
I was joking about the punishment part. I was just attempting to be funny while indirectly suggesting they trade him to Portland.
I really hope the Sun's get in on the Jimmy Butler deal and become another playoff threat in the west.
As was I. MIN would be stupid to keep him (biting off their nose to spite their face). He would be a total distraction this season and then they'd lose him for nothing next summer. BNM
I wonder--would dealing Kyrie for Whiteside make the Celtics a better team? (yes, I can read the trade machine analysis)
You say you're a basketball junkie. You always rag on posters who don't watch teams outside of the Blazers. Yet you don't know who Tyler Johnson is. Something doesn't mesh right. MIA gave Johnson a backloaded contract a couple years ago. First two years of it, he made like 5mil. This is the first year Johnson's backloaded contract.
