I think this is them thinking they can pull off another trade like the one they did with Kevin Love, but that was such a fluke. Love also (if memory serves) said he would not re-sign with the Wolves and wanted a trade. They never should have gotten good value for him, but LeBron basically strong armed the team into trading Wiggins for Love. So it's like the Wolves got the impression that if they just wait long enough they will get another #1 pick for a guy that wants out. They don't seem to understand that they're hurting the team chemistry and only driving his value lower and lower.
Must See TV! This has WWE written all over it. I think Butler actually WANTS to be booed in MIN. I think it will motivate him. And, if he plays great, those boos will quickly turn to cheers. BNM
Butler really needs to be here by Tuesday evening so he can at least get in a practice on Wednesday before Thursday's game.
There not trading Turner. Turner is going to run the 2nd unit without CJ being in the game this season.
Hate to be crass, but there is now no way this trade will happen; Vulcans would never approve it. Too expensive.
This is the irreparable damage I'm talking about. Through four games, he's averaging 16/9 and shooting a career worst 42.6% from the field and looks largely disinterested. People can call Towns soft or get after him for dogging it, but I can't blame him. Thibs/Butler undermining him at every turn can take a toll-- it's a toxic work environment.
Let's say you work for a company whose owner gives you a long term commitment after promising to get rid of a toxic coworker. You also have a biased manager who sides with that coworker and lets him emasculate you in public and in front of all the other employees. You also are stuck in this situation. I wouldn't give a shit either. Fuck all this bullshit bravado. A shitty work environment leads to lack of productivity, not sure why it would be any different in the NBA.
Well it sounds like KAT wouldnt of signed but he thought Jimmy would be gone. Thibs and Butler should both be gone but Glen doesnt want to pay Thibs and Thibs doesnt want to trade Jimmy. So they’ll continue to under perform, because from the top down bad leadership.
How did it get shitty in the first place? You think Butler started calling KAT out for no reason? Just look at the history of players Butler has evidently had a problem with. Sure, the way he’s handled it (going public) was wrong but there’s probably some underlying truth there as well. KAT isn’t innocent.
And Butler's motivation isn't all that noble either. He wanted to get the designated supermax extension and Minny didn't make the moves necessary to make that happen, so he threw a tantrum and got on his soapbox about working hard and love for the game. I see right through his bullshit.
Butler said he asked for a trade right after the season, privately. I don’t see how that’s unprofessional. I believe him too because Minnesota still hasn’t done shit after he asked a second time and it went public.
Smart move by Wolves as his value is going up since he went public couple months back. If I was the Wolves no way I trade him when he requested it, it would have to be on teams term's.
