You can come back pretty quickly from a meniscus tear...... but he probably shouldn't.

I tore my meniscus playing tennis..although at the time I was 40....it took two years before I could hike pain free....doctor said no more running period...couple years later I felt pretty good and went out on the court again....within 45 minutes I was back to square one and in pain....I hike now but avoid any quick stops laterally in sports...can cause me two weeks of bad pain. Jimmy is younger and has probably great doctors but it's going to change what he can do off that leg forever in my view

If he was a horse they would shoot him. But he's not so I'm guessing he'll have to have it amputated.

Brandon Roy played four days after meniscus surgery.

    That worked out well.

Brandon Roy isn't the best example to Show how fast you can play again after a injury

A regular fan would cry from this fact. But I'm a Blazer fan so I am numb to injury reports.

Typically around 4-6 weeks for recovery which will likely keep him out all of March and maybe some of April.

Actually it was 8 days but the 4th game of the playoffs against Phoenix. Pretty remarkable he was able to come back so quick, but at that time his meniscus in both knees were shot and his time was limited as shown the following year.

Yawn. I'm sure you meant to say Roy was one of the best Blazers in the history of the team.

Butler's injury is going to make the T-pups a better team. They may lose some games with him out but when he comes back, watch out! They've been relying on Butler to bail them out too much, a more balanced team is a better team.
