It is a little gimmicky, but only because most teams don't really have two legit centers worthy of major minutes, so most teams don't have the luxury of even trying it. Which adds to its long-term effectiveness--how do you prepare your team for that lineup if you don't have anybody over 6'10? Pretty tough to practice for.

Loved it, of course. And it was very effective.

mm: you are a wild man! A defensive lineup of Bayless, Batum, Aldridge, Joel and Greg? OH, My!

Wait! Blasphemy! That would insinuate that Nate can actually strategically prepare for a game and, gasp, coach!

    Gramps...

They finally pick up one of my crazy out-of-the-box ideas! Maybe they do read this!

Next it'll be starting Bayless in a motion offense. Well, one can hope, anyway.

I've been hoping to see the twin towers all year. That was a joy. Those were some nasty picks getting set up top and Boston had no idea which side of the key to defend in the post. Probably helped that both plays were attacking Big Baby, but that sort of thing is likely to be the case with the mismatches a twin tower lineup will create against most teams.

I think you can only go to it later in the game when the pace has slowed down a bit, otherwise our bigs get run up and down the floor... Plus, you have to watch and wait to see if foul trouble will be an issue before putting both in together.

Boston can't intimidate with ODEN and JOEL. Turns the whole game around!
