Yeah, I see around 8-10 million. I'm not arguing that Asik deserves that type of money, only that a GM is going to offer it. I think Asik's rebounding numbers will probably be higher at the end of the season, but that's kind of besides the point. Asik is one of handful of players that is the right size to be a starting center and can handle the minutes. There's not much further a GM needs to go from there: Asik's a good defender and rebounder; he shows flashes of being able to catch, finish and pass. That's all it takes to get an offer of 8-10 million.
Asik is one of those players you can't really judge on stats alone. He does a lot that don't show up on the stat sheet. As a rookie posted a DRtg of 97 (101 in the playoffs) and through six games this season he has an outstanding 91 DRtg. Some team is going to make life tougher for Chicago next summer.
