So, what does getting kneed in the testicles and getting dunked on by Amare have to due with whether, or not, Joel sucks. I'm pretty sure everyone that's played basketball beyond the 5th grade level has taken a shot or two to the gonads, and it's not like Joel is the only player Amare has ever dunked on. But hey, if you want to keep insisting that the guy is who is 2nd in the league in rebound rate (second only to teammate Greg Oden), has averaged over 2.6 BPG in the last eight games, and continues to shoot over 80% from the field for the season SUCKS, well it's a free world. Just don't expect anybody else to agree with you. BNM
LOL, no. You missed it. The funny part of that article was when the reporter made fun of Joel for using himself too much while playing NBA2K7 and Joel responded by saying "How many video games are you in?" No, but I will insist that this whole argument is ridiculous, which is why I made a purposely ridiculous post. I think it's dumb that you are still bringing up that old thread, but if you really want this to continue you can. And I don't think that I ever tried to recruit any fellow Joel hater, simply stating my opinion. [/QUOTE]
not just Abott who recognizes Joel . . . he was being praised big time by his teammates last night. I was going to start a thread saying Roy calls him the bodyguard and the wall or something like that and then open the thread to find out Roy wasn't talking about Oden but instead about Joel. http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2008/12/the_portland_trail_blazers_bea.html "Przybilla also rolled on the court for a loose ball that eventually ended up in the hands of Roy, who nailed a jumper for an 83-77 lead. Later, Przybilla blocked a dunk attempt by David Lee, and when Wilson Chandler rebounded, Przybilla recovered and forced Chandler to miss wildly over the backboard. Amazingly, Przybilla was not credited for a block against Lee. But whatever the official scorer did not see, Przybilla's teammates did, and they said they couldn't imagine where they would be without him. "He is our bodyguard," Rodriguez said. "When you see a guy going to the paint and going right at him, you know it's going to be a block. He helps me a lot, because on the pick-and-roll, we were having trouble with it, but with him there, he's that shadow, that wall." When Przybilla was mentioned to Fernandez, the Spaniard fluttered his lips. "Pfft. For me, he's the best," Fernandez said. "Everybody needs to speak about Joel, because sometimes offense, or scoring points is not what's important. It's Joel and defense that is very important for us."
The only one that gets 110% in the entire league is Wade - and that's because he gets free throws when someone looks at him funny. (*) Iverson is just bragging. (*) - I am a big Wade fan - but he does get a lot of favorable calls.
